Power supplies in rural England

Loy Yang Power Station in Gippsland, outside of Traralgon, Victoria, with two birds in the top right corner. A brown coal fired power station, one of several in the area that generates most of Victoria’s power. Taken on the way home from work on what was a marathon day (230km of driving, work, 230km home again). Sadandal and I left enough time to be able to grab some photographs on the way and on the return journey. Conditions were brutal, with rain and freezing cold winds gusting to 70kmh or so. The gusts were so strong that I eschewewd the use of a tripod, as the gusts would have sent it flying. Basically I waited until a gust stopped, and hoped to press the shutter before the next one hit.
A rainbow over the huge power pylons carrying electricity from the massive brown coal-fired power generation stations at Loy Yang, just south of Traralgon, Victoria
This old power pole was found in the Scheyville National Park, to the NW of Sydney NSW Australia. Is this what we can expect in the months to come, with the battle to privatise electricity raging in NSW? Buy lots of candles!
Taken in the Brecon beacons National Park. A blight on the landscape or manmade art? You decide.
