OK, John Howard probably doesn’t really hate everybody. He just has very little respect for our intelligence. I get a little nervous when I see him presenting a paternalistic pappa type attitude on the telly. It kinda makes me think, what if he really did hate everybody? Would this explain a few things? Since his election in 1996, the Howard government has systematically restricted our right to dissent. His government has restricted our ability to express alternative views through a systematic legislative agenda aimed at countering effective democratic practices. If you’re down with exposing the lie inherent in the Howard government’s ‘strengthening of our democracy’, wear this t-shirt, and exercise your right to a voice.

This design imagines Hillary Clinton as a political detergent for Washington D.C. in general, and for the White House in particular. Satirically using a design suggestive of a laundry soap box, this t-shirt recasts the political soap box to be more than just a platform for public speaking, but a more literal cleansing agent. “Gets out stubborn Bush stains”, reads the star in the lower lefthand corner, which, in a more commercial detergent, might only read “new and improved”. This Clinton White House might indeed be new and improved, compared to the last model that the United States bought back in the 1990s, but the message that will resound most profoundly with supporters of the Hillary Clinton for President campaign is that it takes a Clinton to clean up after a Bush.

On November 4, 2008 (US election day), marks the 170th Anniversary of the “Trail of Tears”. / Symbolically and numerologically, both the date and the anniversary are representative to the number 8 – layed sideways the symbol of infinity – infinite possibilities, cosmic consciousness and Karma are the significance to this numbers’ symbology. This photograph is of a beaver pelt that has been in our family for many years, in remembrance of our ancestors’ fate at the hands of ignorance, greed and separatism. This photograph and others’, in collaboration with my Tsalagi sister, coppertrees aka Medicine Woman of the Art will accompany a writing of remembrance for our Cherokee ancestors’ entitled the Beginning of the Trail, with hopes to enlighten the hearts and minds of our brothers and sisters walking the ‘Good Red Road’ or simply the path to light… WindOwl

11.04.08 – As voting season 2008 comes to an end, please ask yourself this when it is all over, is the system really that good… enough to continue running the country before there’s another civil war… or grow more hatred in the world against the states and its’ people instead of the greedy individuals who hide in the dark…. this is ridiculous! United?... hum, maybe in the neighborhoods but not as whole. Good luck to everyone and their preferred candidate but more importantly, good luck on helping to make “change” more than what words are worth. ...go Obama! 11.05.08 – Wow, amazing election night last night!!! Maybe there is hope to reunite if everyone can “just… get along!”

Barack Obama is 2008’s “Person of the Year” as declared by TIME Magazine. I think it’s amazing that we were all able to witness history in the making with him winning the 2008 Election. I decided to do a series of Obama portraits in recognition of his achievements.
