I just turned off my TV after watching American history being made. The first black President of these United States was elected. / This instant by its very nature is the single most redefining moment of the last century for my great country. I only hope and pray--it WILL UNITE our states once again. It is in our best interest that we accept this change; and collectively join forces to move forward. / I did NOT vote for Obama-but-I am a man with a deep and abiding love for America-I am a true Patriot-and thus-the greater good of America is the overriding factor that must-and will-control my personal opinion; and fix my eyes on the BEST FUTURE for this land I love so much. We all must become the solution—and NOT the problem. Below is a Song that I wrote for one of my Movies called MUDDY WATER BLUES--I wrote then-what we all must embrace now—the racial hate from BOTH SIDES MUST STOP HERE! / THE COLOR OF SKIN A SONG BY DALE CRUM 3-13-2008 / The color of skin--does not make the man-but gentle of soul-and kindness of hand / Taken away—and that far too young--by burning arrows-the enemy strung / Shot from the bow-of the devil himself-one more son dead-in the prime of his health / If Jesus loves all-souls have no color-how can we keep on-hating each other? / The day it will come-or already be here?—When all men can stop--hiding in fear / From those who hold grudges-for sins long ago-still blaming now-for things nobody knows / They keep spreading lies-and fanning dead flames-I must say again-this seems so insane / When shall we listen—when shall we learn--when shall the racial-fires cease to burn / Hate is the venom-that flows through the fangs-then through the hearts-and innocent veins / Of those only guilty-of White or of Black-this is the madness-behind their attack / Born without choice-killed without voice-only fools will find fodder-in this to rejoice / How long will it be-till men learn to see-the folly of hate-and snake in the tree / Who whispers to all- who have ears to hear--to keep throwing gas-on the flames of fear / The time has come-for man to evolve-beyond seeing colors-of us, one and all / For we are just humans-in need of each other-that makes us all-sisters and brothers / We’re not just monkeys—standing upright--we’re all human souls-dear in God’s sight / All the lies-are whispered through fangs-stop listening to him-start using your brain / We are the problem-we are the solution-we are the ones-to stop racial pollution / We are the problem-we are the solution-we are the ones-to stop racial pollution / When shall we listen—when shall we learn--when shall the racial-fires cease to burn / Hate is the venom-that flows through the fangs-then through the hearts-and innocent veins / Of those only guilty-of White or of Black-this is the madness-behind their attack / Born without choice-killed without voice-only fools will find fodder-in this to rejoice / We are the problem-we are the solution-we are the ones-to stop racial pollution / We-are-the-problem-we-are-the-solution / We-are-the-ones-to-stop-racial—pollution. *So—-which one will YOU be? / Red, White, and Blue Blooded Patriot, / Dale Crum

Long sigh… / The journey has just begun, however for tonight my faith has been restored in the “Ideals” of America. As a true blooded cynic I have for the majority of the years of my life doubted the course of my government. I have lived with doom like a hot breath on the back of my neck. The Reagan years began a downward spiral of the American spirit. Yes, there have been many times in the past twenty-five years for nationalists to waive their flags in honor of the America they believe in, but the majority of this nation have been troubled as wittiness’s’ to the crimes of the few who tightly grip the power. The pendulum has swung and a paradigm shifted. The American people have spoken. The people, from all corners of this nation, who have held their breath in hope that we would not once again be delivered a lie are tonight renewed. We can not now sit back and wait for President Obama to deliver us from evil. This is our turn to be the decider. The choice has always been ours. We just lost our faith that we have a real voice, a say so that counts. A real president is first just a man, or woman. President Obama humbly extends the power back to the people where it belongs. Take that power, believe in it, engage. Do nothing to stall the momentum that has delivered to the world a promise of a better future. Help President Obama unravel the destruction left behind by the Neo-Cons. He has given his promise to work for you. Hold him to it and do the same for him. This is all of our victory and all of our duty. Lets get to the task of ending the crimes, such as the ongoing wars, and holding the perpetrators responsible. Lets work to restore the image of this country and once again be a beacon to the world. This country has a brutal history of tyranny over some of its own children and others around the world. This is our time to right those wrongs and unite the people of the Earth on a path of love and sustainability. We for the moment have overcome, but tomorrow is a new day. We can start the day with the much deserved smiles on our hearts but we must not rest our hands. The stakes are too high to walk away. The fight will be too long to give up now. Thank you, Barack Obama. You have given to the world much more than your service. I hope in eight years I feel the same or better about what I feel tonight. Anything is possible… Sam Dantone

I had the rare pleasure of seeing Barack Obama speak live yesterday at my school Boise State University. I had to completely give up on politics about 8 years ago for my own health. The more i leaned the more i was driving myself to an early grave. But I was really impressed by Obama and inspired. He actually gave me a glimpse of hope for this corrupt, maniacle government. Some of the changes hes wishes to instill if he becomes president are: 1. Universal Free Healthcare for all Americans by the end of his first term / 2. $4000 college credit for students wishing to seek higher educations / 3. Get our troops out of Iraq and get the real enemy, Bin Laden / 4. Completely take lobbiest and PACS out of the whitehouse and stop letting them set political agendas / 5. Bring Amercan starndards of education back to the forefront / 6. Bring America to the forefront of preservation and protection of our earth This is not saying that he couldnt be totally blowing smoke up our bum bums, like so many politicians have done before. But the thing about Obama is he really sounds like hes speaking from the heart. His whole campaign is based on CHANGE. He wants to completely change the way this country works and re-instill a sense a pride in our country which the Bush Administration so easily destroyed. It seems that no one wants things to continue as there are, and we all are so despritly calling for change. So now i may enter back into the world of politics. I just might have to get passed my moral and pholisophical reasons of completely withdrawing from politics, to vote and support this empassioned individual in the hope that their is still the chance that we can change this country back for the good. I highly recommend that you go and find some of his speeches on youtube.com or elsewhere and listen to what he has to say. OBAMA ‘08!!! www.barackobama.com

In the 1960’s when Gene Roddenberry was creating Star Trek he wanted humans to be a united people that put aside their differences and worked together for the common good but felt it would take a cataclysmic event for people to be at that point. Last night the United States showed that we can get there without having to annihilate each other first. After John McCain gave easily the most gracious and poignant concession speaches I have seen in my lifetime. I started to look back a remember why I wanted him to beat W in 2000, and on September 11th 2001 why him not getting the Republican Nomination over Bush was truely tragic. I hope last night was an indicator that the real Senetor McCain has rejoined us and will finnish off his term with dignity. In 2004 when Barrack Obama spoke at the Democrat’s National Convention I looked at my wife and said, in so many words, there is the first African American President of the United States. Now let us ride this wave of optimism into the future and hopefully lead Earth to be the utopia it deserves to be. God Bless America

In about 46 days, greatly depending on when you read this, George W Bush will be leaving the Whitehouse. Thank God!!! Hopefully when President-elect Obama becomes President Obama he can get the USA back on track. We really need Change we can believe in because over the last two presidental terms I ‘ve been feeling that an apocolypse would have been a more promising direction for us to be heading in, I plan on surviving the end of the world because what comes on the other side will be very intersting.

In seven days Bush will be out and Obama will be sworn in. History will be made as our first African American president takes office and in turn may start off his administration by making history right out of the gate. All last night I watched some media speculation about the possibility of a War Crimes trial occupying Bush’s retirement. I know Obama plans on signing his first Executive Order right away to close Gitmo, but before they do maybe they should give W a chance to stay there for a while. Him and Cheney could share a cell for a couple of months. And if their administration is any example of how their cell mate status would go, it’s obvious who’ll be catching and who’ll be pitching.

So as a new American today is my first day to go to polls and vote in an Presidential race. I’m so excited … I’m fascinated with the process and the intensity this election has taken in it’s path. Soon the decisions of everyone will be made and we will in January have a new president. May those that vote today vote with their hearts and may wisdom prevail. I plan to take my camera and see if I can get some last minute photos of this process.
