  • Mountain Mists
    by adgray

Take a steep track to the top of the world where the Kosciusko moon is near

I dream of living up there / the peace the freedom the challenge the reality of living / This is as close as I’ve gotten / Put my ashes in a simple wooden box and have a mountain man toss me from the top at full gallop! / - and I will rest easy for all eternity / ♥ I wrote this as an ekphrasis of how I felt / having seen “the Man From Snowy River Arena Spectacular” (2001) / I know I have always felt an affinity with the mountains of our Victorian High Country ♥

  • ~ High Country Calling ~
    by adgray

open up your heart to feel the magic of the mist / open up your ears to hear the mountains call

Another poem inspired by a Bubbler’s art Great Alpine Road – Victoria – Australia by the wonderful Phillip Johnson / The most wonderful place in the world I long to be. Enjoy the magic of the mist! ♥

  • = Bloody Good Mates =
    by adgray

Dave staggered out on to the bluff above the drop to the sluggish brown water. / ‘Barry mate we’ve made it to the river we’ll be right ma…

Unlike my usual inspirations I saw this Picture / from my dear friend Noelene and this story hit me full on like a bloke telling me to tell the tale. / So Tell it I have. / Thanks Noelene and I’d like to thank all the blokes and Lasses who give up their time and put their lives on the line every day to man the CFA and help where they can! They’re the best blokes and bloody good mates! / THANKS GUYS & GALS! xx ♥ xx Enjoy! :O) Coose this one for my pledge to the “PHOENIX APPEAL” / 6 poems hand signed + 200% of your donated proceeds to the Victorian Black Saturday 2009 Fire Victims / Redbubble are awesome!!!

  • ~ Biscuit & Blue ~
    by adgray

Biscuit & blue / I see you / left over from centuries ago

The wonderful Darren Stones put up a shot about Benella and these words filled me [as they do!] Enjoy! ♥ [Word of warning – watch out for the cops in Benella – they think they’re from LA or NY & you’re the next terrorist set to use their airstrip! well they were 15 years ago! lol ☺]

  • ~ Colours in My Eyes ~
    by adgray

    If I should go blind will I still remember / the colours of the world I have seen? / Will my eyes become the colours reflecting my memory;

I was trapped in this gaze posted by Alf Caruana and the the thought “What happens to your eyes when you go blind?” crossed my mind then these words filled my head Enjoy! ♥

  • ~ Nature’s Eternal Optimism! ~
    by adgray

But look! / Even with the loss of their luscious canopy / to issue forth Eucalyptus, the cleansing of the air

For those who despair at the ravages of bushfire on our glorious bush My good mate Darren Stones posted this thoughtful shot of Tambo Crossing / On this the 70th anniversary of the Hottest day on record and the biggest bushfires Victoria has ever seen …... / Look beyond the burnt out land to the hope in the mountains and the evidence of awesome resilience in the tree right before your very eyes! The bushfire season is upon us again Please be careful where you leave your rubbish …. glass acts like a magnifying glass & starts fires! & what you throw out your window … a lit cigarette butt one moment a raging all consuming uncontrollable bushfire the next! / One was even started by a man pulling off the road into long grass and the exhaust lit the grass and WOOF!!! half the high-plains went up! I pray the idiots don’t start them, nature has her own plan! / Chookas! X♥X OMG UPDATE: / This was written January 13th the 70th Anniversary of “Black Friday” 1939 – the worst bushfires in Victoria till that date – 71 died as the whole state from the SA border to the Gippsland / NSW border was ablaze with bushfire. / Ash Wednesday on 16th Feb 1983 killed 72 but 12 were firefighters that died trying to save a house in Beaconsfield – then an outer rural town now part of Melbourne’s urban area (just up the road from me!) I remember that fire and the fear we all had as Melbourne became cut off from the world by road rail & air leaving only ship evacuation as the fires ringed the city and threatened to close in! BUT Saturday 07-02-09 our north eastern hills exploded in a firestorm to rival all others. In a matter of hours over 180 people perished and towns were obliterated! / Before the month of February was over the fires had claimed 210 lives! / Thousands of homes completely gone! / The fires burned uncontrolled for a whole month / most of them deliberately lit This was the worst fire we have ever had …. / and hopefully we shall learn from it and never fall victim to it in such magnitude again! Phoenix Appeal because even if the fires are over they still cannot go home! ♥

    by adgray

    For the Black Saturday Victims

The image untitled from Jessica Tremp / donated to the PHOENIX APPEAL I saw and these words flowed / I hope they convey why we are all grieving / & help people to justify why they cry even if they don’t know anyone involved / Because whole families were lost ….. / 90% of whole township communities were lost …. / .... there may be no one left to grieve for them / so we all will! / We will SHOUT “WHY??” / and we will cry “why oh why!” / ♥

  • What We Do With This Life
    by Larry Davis

We are dying, and we are watching everything around us die. / It makes me feel useless.

I am not preaching. / This is a feeling. / This I have to say from my heart. / This is a hope that I have. / This is what I hope will happen. / Give it some serious thought.

  • This standing being once rooted deep in the Earth / the rivers’ waters ran high, uprooted her for rebirth A magical aura surrounds her form, in remains / as she respectfully identifies our humble domain At her base sits the medicine and strength of the Bear / whose introspective instinct fares none to compare Great Horned Owl, the largest of all night birds / guarding with discernment and outsmarting the absurd Enduring Elk supports our stamina and health / reminding us our persistence and hope brings wealth Our four-legged teachers, like the wise old wolf / taught us new paths and options, as the old were engulfed Secretive Bobcat, in her stillness, does silently watch / honoring mindfulness, with no dogma to debauch The great Buffalo reminds us scarcity is based upon fear / to be released and make way for abundance is made quite clear Atop the embodiment of Spirit, as the Eagle does soar / the freedom of oneness and connecting without keeping score Owl in the Moon oversees winds of ever-present change / whilst the realm of our ancestors broaden their range Clawed, winged, finned and even those who crawl / are akin upon Earth, as I avow never to intentionally maul As one score has passed, opening this brethrens’ door / to these medicine creatures, I gratefully accept much more than folklore. WindOwl 3/3/09 tkrosevear This photograph is of a tree downed in the rivers floods last year, that we brought to our entry and merged with photos of 7 creature teachers whom represent the four cardinal directions and above, below and within – the owl within the moon represents my spirit name and connection to them all. • ~Wise Trade-off~
    by adgray

You tell me this as if it heals our feeling of emptiness / but the search for inner fulfillment and sanctuary for our soul / still goes o…

The wonderful Peter Kurdulija presented an absolutely stunning image of tranquility and beauty with the ancient reminder of man’s everlasting search for Wisdom Lost I hope he didn’t mind me expanding on his words [the first 2 lines] / but I feel there is no trade off of wisdom and success / the trade off is wisdom for material affluence / Even the poorest of people are successful in their living – possibly more so for surviving under greater odds! and for all their wealth and power at the end of the day a rich w’man still becomes dust and only loved ones honour the memory of their life … if s’he warranted that love.

  • ~eventually~
    by adgray

but would it be worth it / to ones proved selfish / so blinkered and deaf / will they have realised / would they now regret / are her effort…

☼ Allow me the great Honour of introducing you all to a brand new Bubbler James Cole – a stunning artists of the most exceptional kind! ☼ His piece drowning solitude has inspired me to create poetical prose for thought in the style I had in the beginning and I have striven to write again since … thankfully inspired by such art my own true creativity has returned to me again! It also reminds me of songs from a local artist; Neil Quinlan / “Outside Badland’s Fantasy” & “the Cloud of Knowing” Thank you! ♥

  • ~ I Don't Need You to Save Me! ~
    by adgray

/ I saw these eyes and I knew she was stronger than me! / and words rushed – shouting through my fingers & crashing into my keyboard! Thank you Maciej Pokora for this experience! Not every person needs saving! “Sometimes No Help is More Help than Help!” adgray 1999

  • / in the group “Exceptional Ekphrasis” In my writings: Oh to Soar Above the Clouds ! click here / in the group “Live Love and Dream” My attempt to join layers into one picture and use some digital painting and effects and a few words to go with it . . Oh to Soar Above the Clouds / Oh to soar high above the clouds, where skies are bright, clear / to leave behind all the darkness, the cold winds and pelting rain / break through my stormy skies, to where blue skies will appear / Oh to soar above the clouds, be free from heartache and pain Where the sun with healing rays, gives comfort, and dries tears / I must go back through stormy skies, the sun lovingly explains / With dry feathers, strong wings, the warm sun calms my fears / Oh to help others soar above the clouds, back to the sun again / help break through their storms, to where blue skies will appear
