My car from another angle. / The EH Holden was coming to be known as a very reliable, yet easy to repair should the need be. Based on the EJ the EH had a much more powerful engine and clever styling changes. Central to the new model’s appeal were its styling updates, and the new “Red” motor. This new motor was stronger, smoother, more economical and more powerful. There was the 149ci at 95 bhp and the 179ci at 115 bhp, which was initially only available with the automatic transmission. This showed an increase in power of over 50% in the 179ci motor over the old “Grey” (one of the reasons the public wasn’t ready for a 179ci manual?) The 179 manual option was not available until April 1964.

Interview with Randy Monteith

I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to do the interview on the very talented Randy Monteith Thanks so much for your time Randy ! Randy is an amazing artist , who does artwork in such a way , it actually hurts my head trying to imagine HOW he does it , truly a master at his craft , incredibly talented and gifted ! In addition to being an amazing artist , Randy also co-hosts the group How to Redbubble and somehow also finds the time to churn out very detailed journals on how to do someof the amazing work he does ! I could go on and on with Randy’s many accomplishments ( art showings, awards , interviews with magazines !!) Seriously , the guy is like Digital Superman !! Make sure you check out all his work , you won’t be disappointed ! Now, on with the interview …..... How does being a creative person and pursuing your creativity affect other aspects of your life? For me being creative is an outlet. Its like I have this energy that needs to be put to work and when I get an idea for a new image it drives me. Sometimes to the point where I will work on it to the wee hours of the morning and still have to get up at 6:30 am to go to work. I get distracted at work cause an idea comes to me and I start thinking about how I can make it come to fruition. After winning a place in Redbubble’s GAIA book , people start to sense that there is a little bit more to what I am doing. I presently have four pieces of artwork in the local Definitely Superior Art Gallery and one of them Fury of the Fallen impressed one lady so much that when she did finally get ahold of me she told me that every second word she said was a swear word, when she first saw the image. I then asked her ” Is that good?” She laughed and said this piece was going to be the only peice hanging in her new house’s living room. Its allways nice to know your artwork is going to a good home. Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful Well I sold my first piece of artwork as a Canvas print on the 6th day I was on here. / Many people on Redbubble have made my time on here both special and meaningful, to name a few Yvonne ( RavenSoul), Heather Rivet, Ravenor, Darren Sharp, hahpistuff, Danny, Aloramyst, clarkey, Meach, many more whose names escape me at the time of this interview. All those that commented on my work and fav’d it and parted with their hard earned money and bought some of it. Show & tell us about five works on redbubble that have moved or inspired you. / Stranger in Black by Imber / This image haunts me every time I look at it. Its amazing in so many ways / / Heaven for Everyone / ForbiddenWhispers aka Anna – does such amazing 3D work she is someone I look up and hope I can achieve this level one day. / / Child’s Play – Darren Burdell / Love the colouring and the look of the little girl ! Great work! / / Wake Up Call – Shanina Conway / Love this , its an amazing piece of 3D work and she is a master! / / Summer Solstice – Heather Rivet / What more can be said , Heather has a passion for photography and helping other artists . She got up in the wee hours of the morning to capture this! Thanks again Randy for your time , and your talent !

So much for bright new prospects. In the last week the new job has gone distinctly sour, and today I handed in my notice. / The people I work with on a daily basis are friendly and helpful, although a tad stressed because they need more people and just can’t hire them. (Or, they hire them and then they leave after a few weeks. I’m not the first!) But the place is cursed by the Group Operations Director. He’s in charge of the renovations and changes going on here and all the other plants across Australia, and he’s an A-Grade workplace bully. He came over from Sydney last week and stood the two managers (both women) in the middle of the lab and shouted abuse at them. F-bombs, here there and everywhere. Then he went to a product launch that evening and, in an unscheduled speech, he slagged off all the Perth team to the customers. Basically said, “They’re your problem, but I’m your rescuer.” Just for good measure he mentioned that he’s sacked 40 people in the last year. He sounded as if he was bragging about a high score on Space Invaders! / The customers were not impressed. They spoke very supportively to the staff afterwards and said they understood the problems that were causing delays. / I thought about it for a few days, and tried to get a sense of what the managers would do if I raised a complaint. But he’s got them cowed, so today I handed over the white envelope. / The three of us had a quick chat, all sorry that it didn’t work out – and for me at least, that was a genuine regret. But they thanked me for the week’s notice and asked me to carry on as usual. Fine by me. Then, about an hour later. Back into the office: they’ve changed their minds. I can leave right away and they’ll pay me for the week! Even more fine by me! / There’s no way in hell they would have let another worker go so I’m guessing it was the creep’s idea to fast-track me out. They would have rung him with the news, told him why – and since my sole reason for leaving was his “disgusting performance” he would have said, just get rid of him. / So, back to SEEK. But I must say it’s been a day when I learnt something. Normally when I quit I just send them a postcard to say goodbye. Maybe I should play by the rules more often; it might work to my advantage! I think I’m going to be bashing the neighbourhood with this for a couple of days too. Not exactly on-topic, but in its own way, appropriate.

Winddancer Eh’ru is an anomaly amongst her people. She was given the name Eh’ru (flightless one) at her naming ceremony as her wings had not formed and only protruded as nubs from her shoulder blades. Eh’ru’s path to becoming a winddancer (protector of the land and its peoples) was not halted here. She was gifted with the power of the elements which first made themselves known as she reached puberty and is able to summon the wind to do her bidding, making her the first “true” winddancer in over a thousand years.

It’s been a while since I’ve submitted, I’ve been travelling, so I hope to have some photos done up soon. But in the meantime, I’ve submitted another from the pipes series. I think this is the last one for this series. I love the coloring of the opposites caused by the dirt and the concrete and over saturated a bit. I hope you can find a place in your home for this one. Cheers, Mark
