On 28 July 2006 I attended the Met Museum in New York and saw the Dendur Complex and was puzzled a little by all of the explorers names graphed into it.

While at Karnac Temple I noticed the juxtaposition of the ancient hieroglyphic carvings with the more modern (19th century) carvings – the latter we would today call graffiti. It’s not just in recent times we defaced and destroyed precious and enduring works of art and history.
