Khepera the scarab-headed Egyptian god. Khepera, one of the earliest ancient Egyptian deities, was said to have given birth to many of the other Egyptian gods and goddesses himself by copulating with his own shadow! / Original was done in watercolor and gouache media on Arches cold-press 180lb. paper, 2007.
The last of the three major pyramids at Giza is the pyramid for Pharaoh Menkaure. After this, the building of pyramids at the Giza plateau stopped – in fact, it’s believed this pyramid was completed after the Pharaoh’s death. From this vantage point, the pyramid seems lost and alone against the backdrop of the land and sky. It’s amazing to bear witness to the works of men who lived and died, like we all will, 4,000 years ago. UNESCO World Heritage Site /

This design is a variation of the Egyptian Eye of Rah, and was also my first tattoo. Traditionally an eye of protection, the symbol wrapping around the teardrop is the Hebrew letter Lamed, which represents knowledge.
This is my most recent historical-fantasy work. The “Prophecy” title pertains to the reference of a shift in global thinking whereby humankind will soon evolve to a new and elevated state of universal awareness. Within our lifetime we will witness the emergence of Compassion over Greed, in how the citizens of the World conduct business and their personal relationships. Intelligence will blossom with the embracing of psychic enlightenment and a significant progress will be made, in our understanding of additional dimensions that exist within our Natural World. Wild animals will be treated with reverence and all beings will live in a harmonious respect for each other. I look forward to this new Age of awakening… do you? A new World Vision we all can share in… which reminds me to tell you that all sales of this item benefit the great organization “World Vision”. Thank you for helping me to help them. ~ Skye

Hatshepsut was born in the 18th Dynasty. This Dynasty is also referred too as the New Kingdom. Hatshepsut entered this world as the daughter of royal parents. Her father was Tuthmosis I and ruled Egypt for approximately 12 to 14 years. Her mother was Ahmes. Ahmes was the sister of Amenophris I (Pharaoh who ruled Egypt for 21 years). In addition to Hatshepsut, Tuthmosis I and Ahmes had a son. They named him Anenemes. By birthright, Anenemes should have inherited the throne as the son of Tuthmosis I and Ahmes; however, he never became king. Hatshepsut, on the other hand, went on to rule Egypt in later years for approximately 21 years. Hatshepsut ruled Egypt between 1479-1458/57. She ruled in a time when women were allowed to own property and to hold official positions. They were given rights to inherit from deceased family members and were allowed to present their cases in court. Women of Ancient Egypt had more freedom then other ancient cultures such as Greece where women were expected to stay home…...Bohemianrhapsody... ‘Thinking of you’ ...........an experimental digital creation using new plug inz..lol.

Every Little Helps! Re’s associations with both Atum and Amun emphasised his role as a creator god. He was thought to have emerged from the primeval waters at the beginning of time while standing of the sacred mound called the Benben. The Egyptians imagined Re to have created humankind from his tears as they fell to earth. He was also attributed with the creation of the intellect and higher reasoning. On cutting his phallus, perhaps in an act of circumcision, he is said to have drawn drops of blood that became Hu (authority) and Sia (the mind). Sia may well have represented the intuitive qualities of the mind as well as the power of the intellect. Description taken from D.Lawson – An Ancient Oracle…...... Isis, the Egyptian goddess of rebirth remains one of the most familiar images of empowered and utter femininity. The goddess Isis was the first daughter of Geb, god of the Earth, and Nut, the goddess of the Overarching Sky. Isis was born on the first day between the first years of creation, and was adored by her human followers.

“Egyptian Vulture” was featured in Alphabet Soup (Letter V ) Photo taken in Vogelpark (birds zoo) Avifauna, Alphen aan de Rijn, the Netherlands, 6 September 2009. / Canon PowerShot SX1 IS The Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus) is a small Old World vulture, found from southwestern Europe and northern Africa to southern Asia. It is the only living member of the genus Neophron. In Southern Asia this species is called the Scavenger Vulture. The Egyptian Vulture is one of the species that are known to use tools. It uses small rocks to crack thick-shelled ostrich eggs by lifting a stone with its beak and hitting the egg in a strong swing of head and neck. Presumably, this is culturally learned, by observing others in the social group. This is very effective in survival for the Egyptian vulture. / / Feeding / Egyptian Vultures are scavengers, mainly feeding off carrion, but they also prey on small mammals and eggs. Due to its relatively small size, it needs to wait until other scavengers (such as the larger Gyps vultures, hyenas, and lions) finish their meal before it may start feeding. Its head and beak are well fitted for this situation. As with other vultures, it is believed that the bare skin prevents food from sticking to it. Using its long beak, an Egyptian Vulture can tear off small pieces of meat left by larger scavengers. The thin beak also can fit through narrow spaces between bones to get food that large-beaked vultures cannot reach. (Wikipedia) /
