This is my entry to the photoshop creative competition. The use of photoshop is not huge as I pretty much only composed nine original images together. But I don’t think it needs more “effects” to tell its story. This is a deconstruction and chaotic recomposition of an urban lanscape in Alexandria, Egypt. Because I see the future dynamic, urban, fast and anarchic.
Sucking down a cold one in the Egyption desert. We thought we were in the middle of nowhere when we encountered this scene. No villages for miles, no clues as to how the boys got there. We approached these boys to find them uncovering an esky full of ice and 1/2 a dozen softdrinks -one of the few times where haggling over price was not performed.

Travel for me is about stepping outside of my normal comfort zone. I have never thought about balloons. I’m not intensely afraid of heights or anything, but I don’t like the idea of having so much air between my feet and the ground. I would never have thought to try to arrange something like this at home, but when our guide suggested that this might be something the group would enjoy, most of us took advantage. The first morning in Luxor started out as dawn broke high above the city of Luxor and the Valley of the Kings….

Bastet had the roles of fertility, protector of children and the protector of all cats. Bastet became so popular that she became a household goddess. Bastet’s counterpart was the goddess Sekhmet who represented the cat goddess’ destructive force. Sekhmet is known as the goddess of war and pestilence. Together, Bastet and Sekhmet represented the balance of the forces of nature in Egypt. Painting in mixed media / 100×42 cm 3rd October 2008 Music -
Columns and walls of Ancient Egypt. This column was amongst many at Medinut Habu, also known as the mortuary temple of Ramesses III. Here he can be seen, still in some original colour trampling all enemies before him. There were additional pictures showing piles of hands and also male appendages indicating the numbers of men his army had conquered. He originally instructed his soldiers to cut off a hand of the enemy they had slain so an accurate record of dead could be kept. For each hand he gave a reward. Of course this gave rise to his soldiers cutting off both hands to increase their reward but this resulted in inaccurate records. He therefore changed the reward to be given for what men only have one of….

This is an Egyptian Vulture (neophron percnopterus) sporting a delightfully punky hairdo! These smallest of all African vultures are apparently not only carrion eaters, but smart enough to use tools (like stones) to crack open ostrich eggs! Clever little featherballs. Original watercolor and inkline depiction of “The Queen of Wands” tarot card designed for an Art Nouveau deck. I designed this piece as part of a proposal for an all-female tarot card deck to be depicted in an art nouveau style. I also wanted the women to have different ethnicities depending on suit and for the deck to combine astrological (signs) and wiccan (elements, Four Directions, seasons) components into each card in a meaningful way. I see Wands as a Fire suit, with a Southern direction, situated at noon during a blazing summer. Wands signify the spark of creativity, energy and growth, and I wanted my Queen of Wands to be truly regal and somewhat fierce. Believe me, I had no idea when I painted her that she would end up looking so much like our First Lady! She says, “I Am”, “I Will” and “I Know”. I envisioned all the women in the Wands suit as being African, and this Queen is seated in her throne with her sunflower amidst the most creative of endeavors ever: the pyramids. Her wand is carved with the zodiac symbols Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. All wands are depicted in hot colors and earth tones. This original artwork is copyright Ramona Szczerba 2006. This is the first in a limited series of Divine Goddess paintings. This is the finished 16×20 inch piece. I started the process with seven individual pencil/pastels. Each pastel was a visual that I had been given in a dream for this painting. I then scanned all seven of the finished pieces individually into Photoshop where I outlined the art and worked with the brightness and contrast. Next I positioned the pieces together in one document and had a fine art printer print the piece out full size onto an exceptional watercolor paper. This print was now my under-painting. On top of this print I added the final pastels, pencils and paint over the whole surface to finish the piece. The finished work of art is a true harmony of traditional time tested art mediums and techniques with the new electronic tools available today. If you are interested in a print or the original please contact me at – hinkleart@charter.net. Because of the amazing support here on RedBubble I am offering the Original for sale here first. I have brought the price of the original down to $700 and the 16×20 in. signed and numbered prints down to $300 as a thank you to all of my new exceptionally talented friends here in this creative community. The Energy this piece carries is the Higher vibration of Passion. This piece will help arouse your physical and mental Passion. It will wake you – and help you discover your life’s Passion.
