Taken on the Glaisdale to Egton road in North Yorkshire in the North York Moors National Park, looking back towards the Moors above Goathland and the valley of the River Esk. A land settled by each passing generation of immigrant nations, the names and history of the land is now a reflection of the Norse people who settled the land with their place names. Converted into pinhole black and white and best viewed large

Upon this blasted land I grow, / touched by salt winds and ice bound fertile soil, / under this landscapes wonder, / I stand alone with my roots, / bowed until time comes for me to return. This was the view on the outskirts of Egton, in the North Yorkshire Moors as a snow storm swept in from the North Sea past Whitby and up the Esk valley. Converted into black and white and best viewed large.

Here, the river Esk meanders on its way to the old mill, and the stepping stones, and you can see why my camera likes to stay down there. The effect of the changing seasons is no where more noticeable
