Thanks for your help George Lenz / Layers and blends used in PhotoShop… / By using Photoshop, I used 4 different layers here to configure this piece. I took the clouds in one layer, added the egrets in another layer, George Lenz was so kind to help me with the moon layer and I also added a nice flood filter to give the reflections and blending them all in I’m staring out into the night / And trying to hide the pain / I’m going to the place where love / and feeling good don’t ever cost a thing, / And the pain you feel’s a different kind of pain / I’m going home to the place where I belong / where your love has always been enough for me / I’m running from you know I think you got me all wrong / I don’t regret this life I chose for me / But these places and these faces are getting old / So I’m going home / The miles are getting longer it seems / The closer I get to you…. babe / I’ve not always been the best woman and friend for you / But your love remains true and I don’t know why / You always seem to give me another try / I’m going home / To the place where I belong / Where your love has always been good enough for me / I’m running from you know I think you got me all wrong / I don’t regret this life I chose for me / But these places and these faces are getting old / Be careful what you wish for / cause you just might get it all / you just might get it all and then some you dont want / be careful what you wish for cause you just might get it all / You just might get it all / I’m going home to the place where I belong / Where your love has always been enough for me / And I’m running from.. you know I think you got me all wrong / I don’t regret this life I chose for me’ / But these places and these faces are getting old / But these places and these faces are getting old / I’m going home Credits to Chris Daughtry

  • Snowy Egret
    by LjMaxx

    US$3.99–US$91.20

/ Nikon D60~ 55/200 / Mexico Jan/2009 Snowy Egret / Egretta thula / Length: 22 to 26 inches Wingspan: 46 inches Seasonality: Summer / Migrant / ID Keys: Black legs with contrasting yellow feet, black bill, all white plumage The elegant snowy egret was killed by the thousands in the 1800’s for its long, lacy breeding plumage, which was used for women’s hats and other clothing. It has recovered both in range and numbers since that time. Of the white egrets found in South Dakota, the Snowy Egret can be identified by its size (smaller than the Great Egret), it’s yellow feet contrasting with black legs. See the Identification Tips page for differentiating among the white Egrets and Herons in the state. Habitat: Prefers large sloughs or marshes, sometimes edges of ponds or lakes. / Diet: Varies, but includes fish, crustaceans, insects, frogs, lizards, snakes, rodents, snails, and worms. / Behavior: Uses a variety of foraging techniques. They will often actively wade through shallow waters, chasing prey that is startled by the movement. They will also stand still in shallow water, waiting for prey to approach. Snowy Egrets will also forage on dry land, usually in search of insects. / Nesting: June and July / Breeding Map: Breeding bird survey map / Song: Generally silent / Migration: Birds in the interior of the country migrate to U.S. coastal areas, Mexico, and Central America in the fall. / Similar Species: Cattle Egret, Great Egret, immature Little Blue Heron. See Identification Tips for differentiating between these species. / Conservation Status: Expanding range to the north and increasing population in recent decades. Numbers are still far below historical levels, however.

A compilation of my familiar egrets pasted in Photoshop against kind of an angry “fraced” sky, with water added using Flood. In this one I did the egrets reflection in a separate image in Photshop, to see how that would work out. I like the results. The sky was an actual photo that I used Fractilious software to enhance. Hope you do too. Hope you like! Add me to your watch list now / My Bubblesite / Copyright © by Lenz Photo Shop, All Rights Reserved. • Okay, here we have one of the baby snowy egrets biting the bill of dad. They are looking for food that dad had brought back to the nest. This nest was in a tree along a path at the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida. They do not belong to the zoo, they are free. Taken with Nikon D40 w/ 55-200mm Nikkor lens.

  • This was taken at The Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, FL. While walking the zoo, I noticed a lot of noise in a tree along the walkway. It was a mother Snowy Egret and her two little ones. It was the best photo I took at the zoo that day. I hope you enjoy :) Taken with Nikon D40 w/ 55-200mm Nikkor lens Thanks, Antonio

  • Fishing
    by Elizabeth Bravo

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Water color Painting on 140lb Montval paper. / Most of the background of water here was accomplished with wet on wet, adding and moving the colors. The beak was started with a solid orange that settled adding touches of green and I used a wet brush to bring the light spots back out after it was completely dry. Most of the darker areas on the beak were dry brush and then lightly bled. The photo for this painting was taken at Jack London Square in Oakland, CA. As this egret settled in to finding a good spot to fish, he gathered a crowd. We all watched for almost 20 minutes as he caught a days worth of fish. Just enough for lunch, I’m sure he planned to return later that day for the evening show. I’m glad we got front row seating so I could get a few great shots. /

  • Coastal Mantra Series- Flying Meditation has been nominated for the prestigious Pay it Forward Group by Kellie Cranmer of Kcranmer Art Kellies quote to the group in submitting this image was: ”I chose this image because of the simple beauty it brings. Sometimes you can get the best impact by a bird flying…as nature would intend it to do…and Lina captured it so beautifully!! Also…Lina is one amazing soul. • This is the 3rd and final photo in my snowy egret family series. Here you see one of the baby snowy egrets has a hold of moms beak. The dad would show later as seen in “Family Fun with the Snowy Egrets” he would also have his beak in the mouth of a baby. The birds seen in this series are not part of the zoo exhibit, they are free to come and go as they please. Taken with Nikon D40 at Lowry Park Zoo Tampa, Florida.
