  • One of a series taken at Mahoe Bay Jamaica in July 2005. The sunset behind a thin layer of cloud made it look as though the sky was on fire. The bird by the way is a Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) just settling down for the night.

  • Well here it is. Been working on this for two days. It’s a compilation of several images. Some you may recognize from previous submissions(especially the egrets). I’m divulging a lot of secrets here. This is my second, scratch that, third rendition of this. You are not seeing the first one… yet (lol). There are 8 different images included here. Most of them had to be HDR processed. The sky and mountains were created with Terragen. The sun was created with CS2 lighting effects. The water as created with Flood. The house image was taken from a painting we have on our wall at home. That’s what gave me the original idea. The main landscape image was taken at a park near my house where I walk all the time. I was resting one day looking out on the open soccer field and, well, you know how it works. I had to do significant editing to the field shot to remove houses, trash cans, wires and you name it. Then I started to fill it in. You will see this landscape again, for sure with other…ah… items on it. Stay tuned. Any how this was a lot of fun getting to this point, so I hope you like it. Any, and all comments are welcomed…you know I can take it…:-)

  • A compilation of the clouds and egret flying. Water added by flood filter. Sepia tone used for color. Hope you like! Add me to your watch list now / My Bubblesite

  • The egret is going to a place of rest in the tree. Resting is good. It’s another way to rejuvenate the body and mind. A time when the body heals its hurts. A time to reflect. This is a compilation of the egret, and tree. The landscape, sky, sun and water were generated in Photoshop. The reflections of the tree and egret were created with a reverse image, and reduced opacity. I’m not quite sure if I got the egret reflection perspective right and would appreciated your comments. • A digital painting combined with photography and hand-painted elements. This rich scene invokes powerful emotions about the majesty of wildlife and the glorious treasures found in Nature. “Golden” was created by Skye to add to a large series of Heron and Egret artworks for a private collector. Now she is offering many of these uniquely spectacular images here on Red Bubble for your enjoyment. 25% of sales proceeds go to the Mountainaire Avian (& Mammal) Rescue Society in BC, Canada. Thank you for helping the critters.

  • It was a day with “Great Egrets and Rainbows” day at Kirk Park Wildlife Area in Eugene, Oregon. When the rain stopped and the sun came out there were great egrets everywhere. The second shot I took was this close up of a great egret in a tree at the end of a rainbow.

  • another to go along with the previous series…

  • Great Egret and babies. St. Augustine , Florida. Nikon D90 /

  • I hope you see something in this ….. / there is just something about seeing three different birds. in a swamp…....... in the damp moist muggy.. habitat…..... each surviving. each leaving for now to do each do their thing. The wingos the anhinga must be tried. and this ritual of the wings spreading takes sometimes a good ten to fifteen minutes.. The stork eats its food.. the egret is patiently waiting for its next food source. and then watch out. it will spear it with that amazing beak .. Egret, Stork and Anhinga Florida 6 mile Cypress park Fort Myers, Florida Sony DSC H 7 / darkened the shadows .. the black waters of florida are famous ..

  • I love watching herons wading in the shallow waters searching for their dinner. Sometimes it is really funny! They have some humorous antics! This art work has been FEATURED in the “Impressionism Cafe” group! :)

  • A lone snowy egret flies low over dew covered dunes on the edge of a large salt marsh, looking for a place to settle in for the morning and hunt. This particular salt marsh is one of my favorite places to shoot at dawn on Cape Cod. The creek that runs through it empties out into the Nantucket sound, and contains a large amount of fish, crustaceans and mollusks, making it a great feeding spot for many shorebirds.
