  • 20×16” oil painting on canvas The Long-beaked Echidna is one of few mammals that lays eggs like the platypus. The Echidna’s habitat is in danger due to logging, mining and farming, but is mostly endangered due to being hunted with trained dogs as they are a prized trophy animal. The Long-beaked Echidna is on the FOCAL list of Edge of Existance species, and if you would like to learn more about it, visit here: http://www.edgeofexistence.org/mammals/species_info.php?id=2 In this painting, I portray a lone echidna in a broken habitat, half-encircled in a large translucent eggshell. The echidna needs humanity to assist if it is to continue to live.

  • Bush and Cheney. 12×16” Pen and ink, charcoal and eggshells on canvas board. In this piece, Cheney is partly made of eggshells which I used to show his frailty in mind and in body. Our administration does so much damage in the name of God and country. The populace in the lower portion is disfigured, without hope and without justice in this world. Text is from a sermon by Jonathan Edwards entitled “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God (1741): Your wickedness makes you as it were heavy as lead, and to tend downwards with great weight and pressure towards hell; and if God should let you go, you would immediately sink and swiftly descend and plunge into the bottomless gulf, and your healthy constitution, and your own care and prudence, and best contrivance, and all your righteousness, would have no more influence to uphold you and keep you out of hell, than a spider’s web would have to stop a falling rock. Were it not for the sovereign pleasure of God, the earth would not bear you one moment; for you are a burden to it; the creation groans with you… There are the black clouds of God’s wrath now hanging directly over your heads, full of the dreadful storm, and big with thunder; and were it not for the restraining hand of God, it would immediately burst forth upon you… there is nothing but the mere pleasure of God, that holds the waters back, that are unwilling to be stopped, and press hard to go forward. If God should only withdraw his hand from the flood-gate, it would immediately fly open, and the fiery floods of the fierceness and wrath of God, would rush forth with inconceivable fury, and would come upon you with omnipotent power…The bow of God’s wrath is bent, and the arrow made ready on the string, and justice bends the arrow at your heart, and strains the bow, and it is nothing but the mere pleasure of God, and that of an angry God, without any promise or obligation at all, that keeps the arrow one moment from being made drunk with your blood… Also inspired by NIN/Year Zero, specifically the track Capital G. The lyrics to this amazing song are as follows: I pushed a button and elected him to office and a / He pushed a button and it dropped a bomb / You pushed a button and could watch it on the television / Those motherfuckers didn’t last too long ha ha / I’m sick of hearing ‘bout the haves and the have nots / Have some personal accountability / The biggest problem with the way that we’ve been doing things is / The more we let you have the less that I’ll be keeping for me Well I used to stand for something / Now I’m on my hands and knees / Traded in my God for this one / He signs his name with a Capital G Don’t give a shit about the temperature in Guatemala / Don’t really see what all the fuss is about / Ain’t gonna worry bout no future generations and a / I’m sure somebody’s gonna figure it out / Don’t try to tell me how some power can corrupt a person / You haven’t had enough to know what it’s like / You’re only angry ‘cause you wish you were in my position / Now nod your head because you know that I’m right—all right! Well I used to stand for something / But forgot what that could be / There’s a lot of me inside you / Maybe you’re afraid to see Well I used to stand for something / Now I’m on my hands and knees / Traded in my God for this one / He signs his name with a Capital G

  • Spring chicks hatching. Concept view of the spring season…

No photoshop or digital manipulation has taken place in any way.

  • Baby chick in an egg carton wearing an eggshell for a hat.

  • Cute chick in an egg carton.

  • ...a broken egg that has a black shell. Did the contents escape? Is it alive? I hope so. I’m intrigued and interested in who might have hatched while I wasn’t looking. Could it be a black baby dragonlet? It just might be! Archival quality, acid free giclee prints, hand-signed and personalized, are available by contacting the artist. • On Zazzle / On DeviantART / ArtRage 2.5 and graphics tablet / There are many stories of dragons. Wild, blatant fancies and ancient legends of fire and eggs, mist and flame. Of taloned mosters and reptilian mages. Of cunning wyrms and low, crawling beasts. Some tell of mute, ferocious animals, children of earth and flesh. Others proclaim sly creatures of darkness, lurking venom and cruelly slitted eyes. Yet others laud the gracefully scaled spirits of the air, the bright and majestic roaring flames, the shining talons, the clever speeches and shining hoards… This is not one of those. This is the Child of the Sea, who melds with water, and flows with the waves. This is the Daughter of Salt, shining and precious, invisible in the vast seas and yet hidden in every drop. This is the seadragon, who brings the water to life with her turbulence, creating kinspirits from the froth and foam of her passing, and from sleek shining water, and the glimmer of sunlight on a droplet forms her scales… / This is the leaping splash that startles sailors, the dancing krakenmaid flying out with the spray. Old, old and deep as the seas, resting in the dark waters before the first fish formed from her tiny kin, and young, young and new formed with every wave. Everywhere and nowhere, she leaps up, dragging forth wings out of waves, dancing on the swells, whirls and rises and falls, crashing water, shining scales… You will never see her. Be grateful for a quiet life. ArtRage 2.5 and graphics tablet / About 10 hours. Dragonlings slightly easier to see in the WIP but more have been added since. Have you seen them? / Lineart This was one of my longest and I enjoyed it a lot, and learnt a lot, and …well, there’s a part of my head still rushing around in the waves there
