The Changling – Dragon Tales Wouldn’t it be wonderful to find this on a walk in the forest! As a child I was given a book called The Butterflies Ball and I just adored the full page colour illustrations. I would stare for hours at the illustrations of fantastic creatures, it was wonderful fuel for the imagination of a child;) / Image copyright © 2008 Shanina Conway. I was in a meeting with clients the other day and it occurred to me if I was wearing this t-shirt it would have explained a lot about my input. Perfect for those times when you need your clothing to speak for you.
This little painting was done with Oil Pastels, a medium I have come to love recently! I used sanded pastel paper as my surface. These eggs are still somewhat raw which gave me some more interesting colours to work with.
mixed media work on canvas 24”x20” original SOLD one of a continuing series of portraits created through the practice of allowing….leaving the judge out and the should(s) and shouldn’t(s) and just doing the work. stories unfold that i consider universal in the sense that they are intuited based more on feeling than ideas. not my story. is it yours….or yours…..or YOURS?! lol
Just a little fun still life I set-up and captured. Thank you for your time.

This definitely is the final in my L’Oiseau series. LOL I know I’ve said this before, but this definitely is it. It refers to the following lines: ‘Between the conception / And the creation / Between the emotion / And the response / Falls the Shadow.’ of T.S. Eliot’s poem ‘The Hollow Men’ and was inspired by it. There are four more images in the series (so far): The first in the series is Panier-Avec-L’Oiseau. / The second in the series is Tête-à-Tête. / The third in the series is Métamorphose. The fourth in the series is Fin A brief explanation might be in order: / - the nest is inspired by an egret’s nest. / - the flowers are brambles/blackberries, / - at the back you can faintly see a spiral and pearl pattern I created for my Goth Scrap(k)it. / - the sky/clouds is a photograph which I’ve used as a texture / - the leaves framing all the pictures are photographs that I’ve edited and arranged to frame the image. The series is about recognising yourself for who you are and growing because of it, change and rebirth as the new person. Eeek! The uploader does terrible things to my beautiful image! Check it out on my blog for a better representation. Here’s the better version
