  • Is it flying through space or peering through a macro lens? I can’t really explain what I feel about this one. It kind of creeps me out. But I really really love it, feel a part of it. Please see my Etsy listing for this image – and purchase a pearlescent metallic print of this beautiful photograph!

  • I couldn’t decide which version of my work I like better so I posted both. For this image, I got inspired by my grandfather’s old photographs. At his time, there were no colour photography so he would sometimes tint his images to give them a bit of a colour. So I have tried a similar effect using a digital software.

  • Experimenting with a very simple vintage effect … if you like it, I’ll post a tutorial. The process requires layers and while I did it in photoshop, I can’t see why it wouldn’t work in Elements. It is very effective on portraits also. Tutorial is posted here Third Place in Digital Manipulation section at 123rd Castle Hill Agricultural Show March 2009 Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM

  • Angers, France

  • Well, I´m not even talking about the young men of my generation; I was a kid when Marlene Dietrich already was an old dame; but I heard the stories.

  • Letraset. Paper. Half a lifetime. Originally it was a graphic about ‘not heeding warnings’ and ‘time running out’, but as I made it I started to think more and more about how 1984 is just as much an instruction manual for the powerful as it is a warning for the proles. There’s a name for this effect I think, but I have forgotten it. 3mm Helvetica Condensed Bold. / The bottom half of the hourglass never made it on. Looked too much like a moustache. / “Nothing was your own except the few cubic centimetres inside your skull.” / There was also a variation I quite liked but the text was too small I think.

  • This is another small garden of mine with a tree stump for the core of it with a birdbath dish resting on top. What you see here is what I see without the effects outside my window where I sit daily on the computer.

  • Grand Lake, Algonquin Park Ontario, CANADA / September 26th 2009 / Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens / The Orton Effect If I could paint I think I would like to work on impressionistic landscapes like this. A mixture of fall color, rain and fog. There is something mystical and magical about nature under these circumstances, and the soft gentle rain which brings out all the colors and softens all the edges. • These Boots Were Made For Walking / Timberland Boots. An artist / photographer can find inspiration from everyday objects all around him. If we look at light and colour, shape and form, utility and presence, we’ll not go far wrong. Open your eyes and you’ll see artisitic opportunities all around you. Photo Manipulation For this image, I took several shots of the boots at different exposures, HDR in Photomatrix Pro, then some layering work in Elements with two seperate textures of wood. The floor is my hallway andthe boots belong to Junior, my Son-in-law. Copied the original background layer, did a colour overlay, blurred, then some dodging and burning and eraser work to reveal more of the boots through the textures. That’s it, simples really:-) LOL.
