The phrase refers to the idea that a butterfly’s wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that ultimately cause a tornado to appear (or prevent a tornado from appearing). The flapping wing represents a small change in the initial condition of the system, which causes a chain of events leading to large-scale phenomena. Had the butterfly not flapped its wings, the trajectory of the system might have been vastly different.
This intimate, bright yet dark, static yet flowing, autumn themed image was made in Baxter State Park, Maine, USA in October 2006. I like the contrast of the flowing water beneath the still branches, the pop of color from the remaining birch leaves, and the juxtaposition of the branch atop the stream in tone and color! /
This was a night of fun… experimenting with my camera… there are no Photoshop works here either… it is as is… :) Enjoy… :)

The Colpatria Tower in downtown Bogotá, Colombia, South America is a spectacle on display every night as the moving colors spiral around the tower.
Scanning old negatives from my archive, I have found a photograph of Cinque Torri (Five Towers) and Tofanas taken very late in the afternoon. I liked the combination of dark clouds and remaining summer haze that made the background looking very flat like in a painting. Just before clouds covered the sun completely, last rays fell on the Cinque Torri, a group of rocks very popular by climbers. To complete the feeling I had about the picture, I’ve applied ‘colored pencils’ filter in post-processing of this photograph. Dolomiti, Italy. August 2001. Canon EOS 500N, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch, sharpening, colored pencils, color enhancement, blend modes. Detail of the image showing the ‘color pencils’ effect:
I was experimenting with slow shutterspeed effects, and saw a friend do some work using fire. so it became something i wanted to try and just play around with and see what i could do with it. / so one cold night, im bored, i decided to try this time lapse stuff out / at the time i was still using my kodak easyshare 6490 camera back in feb of 2007. / so i set it up on my tripod in the darkest part of my house, the hallway / it took a few times of trial and error, to be lined just right with the framing, and to get the flames just right. i was going for a heart shape for valentines / i used two bic lighters to achieve this effect / just as i set the timer on the camera, as it was starting to release the shutter is when i started forming the heart shape with the flame / this was a very fun challenge, something great to try on those cold or rainy days and you feel like there isnt anything to do. this was shot in SS priority, SS was set at 5.6, time lapse was set at 6 sec, aperture was F 2.8, and focal length was at 6mm, and exposure comp at -2, no programed effects were done to this shot, this is as is right out of camera / unfortunately due to the 4mp of the camera all that is available is the card
Abstract background with red and white lines
An untouched macro of a big ice stick in front of the sun.The ice stick was at least 5 inches wide and I’ve decided to keep it in the freeser to make other shots the day after but with the cold it made snow flakes on it and when I rinsed the stick under the water it all cracked up with a totaly different effect for shooting…it was nice though…. :0) / /
FRACTAL SAFETY NET / Best viewed large. / / / / FRACTAL SAFETY NET was FEATURED on / RED BUBBLE’S HOMEPAGE / on November 2, 2009. / / Fractal “Safety Net” was created out of Chaos with the Quaternion Julia Set, with use of Incendia software, based on five conditions. / / / With special effects rendered in skylight, I then proceeded to apply a little ambience, then I closed the program out and re-opened the image a second time in Photoshop. / / Lighting, luminosity, and colors were now added, along with embossing. After a few more adjustments with brightness and contrast, Fractal “Safety Net” was now complete. I do hope you like it!! / / /
This is another image from Union Creek, Oregon during their prescribed burn last Fall. This image is different in that the sunburst is directly in the center and I have applied the Orten Effect for a challenge on vanishing points. So thanks for your patience in viewing this image again, but in a different form.

Beautiful little white flowers and great light in a mess of weeds in the backyard…
My origami calendar The Loch Ness monster is one of the most famous examples of cryptozoology and has been affectionately referred to by the nickname Nessie Source: Wikipedia So back when I was doing my internship in London, that mobii decided to throw another challenge at me despite that I was busy and didn’t have time :P I also couldn’t come up with a clever idea for a long time; I don’t simply like to fold something small and snap a photo of it; I like to create a scenario. Last night in my sleep an idea occured to me and today I did some experiments with glass bottles and flashlights to create some watery effects. It was rather fun. Nessie was folded from a 6×6mm piece of paper. This photo was taken with an Olympus FE-340, Septembre 21, 2009. For a better idea of scale: / And the messy Nessie set-up: / This work has been feature in: Alphabet Soup / Alternative Process and Experimantal Photography
