  • we had a spectacular sunset Dec 28/08,,,just west of Edmonton,,,,of course I had to stop and snap!! / The sunset was so strong in color that the reflections on this pumper appear to be painted on!!!! I found it very striking.   • Railway and streetcar tracks atop the High Level Bridge, Edmonton, Canada. These tracks are on the upper of two decks, the lower of which carries automotive traffic and pedestrians. The span in the photo is just under 2900 feet (877m), is about 175 feet (21m) above the river and was opened for service in 1913, connecting the then independent communities of Strathcona and Edmonton.   • I dont’ know what it is,, but I seem to have an eye for catching the sun on a rope,, or power line as this one is.,, there was a lot of smoke in the atmosphere, giving the sun the pink tones,,,,,this is what I saw,,, no editing here,,,, and it was spectacular!!!   • The Black-capped Chickadee has a black cap and bib with white sides to the face. Its under parts are white with rusty brown on the flanks; its back is gray. It has a short dark bill, short wings and a long tail. The breeding habitat of the Black-capped Chickadee is mixed or deciduous woods in Canada, Alaska and the northern United States. The Black-capped and Carolina chickadees are virtually impossible to tell apart visually, but they are readily distinguished by call. This one was taken along the Whitemud Creek in Edmonton, AB.

  • My first attempt at a smoke shot.. / I used an incense stick,,,,, the shot was lit from the left with a penlight,,,,, the smoke stream was too straight,, so I gently blew on it,, and this is what appeared!!
