by John De Bord Photography IPAYes, we have all seen them, the people who manage to walk right in front of you when you are taking a shot, the ones who don’t move knowing you are going to photograph and sit there in total arrogance…..or the ones who refuse to move at all. I find that when this happens, I generally say this and they almost run away as fast as they can!

Shakespeare and Company is an independent bookstore located in the 5th arrondissement, in Paris’s Left Bank. / The original bookstore’s proprietor was Sylvia Beach. The shop was often visited by artists of the “Lost Generation,” such as Ernest Hemingway, Ezra Pound, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, George Antheil, Man Ray and James Joyce. Shakespeare and Company, as well as its literary denizens, was repeatedly mentioned in Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast. / Patrons could buy or borrow books like D. H. Lawrence’s controversial Lady Chatterley’s Lover, which had been banned in England and the United States. / It was Beach who first published Joyce’s book Ulysses in 1922. The book was subsequently banned in the United States and United Kingdom.

But it seemed to work well for these pics :) I must admit, I am somewhat proud of my hair creation on Mallory’s head. ha ha ha.
