  • Experimentation with Make-up during an art class. / No particular inspiration for this one, however this is for my Yr 12 Art Folio. / My theme is based around Beauty, and one of the sub-themes i’m exploring is what real beauty is and I’m focusing on those ‘Before and After’ shots that models and celebrities do not want you to see ! / I took a photo of myself and edited it to buggery (god I love photoshop!) / Here’s the before Yep, I’m ugly. Told ya! / Anyway, there’ll be more of this sort of manipulation and ‘perfectionist’ work along the way through my folio. • Our little chihuahua, Casper, was rummaging through his trunk today when he found this image of his Great-Uncle Casperson, as a boy, for whom he was named. I immediately thought to share it with you all! A bit of playful editing, in the style of these two talented artists, Martine Roch and my dear friend, Karen Scrimes both of whom have inspired the idea behind this image. The original vintage image was provided by lorivintage55 here This image featured in the group Graphic Editing 101 in June 2009. Thanks from Great-Uncle Casperson and me!

  • Another from the bathroom shoot I did not too long ago. (Spitting Blood being another). The original colour of my bathroom sink is a very masculine light pink.. so I took a monochrome photo of it instead lol. Playing around with levels of contrast and brightness gave me a darker look to the shot. I then added 3 layers of grimy, scratchy texture to it. This work was created and completed at midnight! • Is never done. :)

  • A late night effort that came together far easier than anticipated. / A little backlightiing, always contrast and bright adjustments, sepia and a black and white antique filter as well as a bit of soft vignetting. Personal note of interest to me: This is a shot of a motorcycle given to my son. He was delighted and had every intention of repairing it and using it for actual transportation. Then came along a young lady, then marriage to said young lady and now a son with her. So, motorcycles have gone on the back burner for now. I made a t-shirt with this image and gave it to him for Christmas. He loved it. I wish I’d had a camera at the ready. His wife likes it too—he’s not off riding this one. :)
