In the world we live in, more people especially those in advertising, government and also those in roles as religious leaders need to remind people of this notion and try to make a more peaceful and better world. Oh and parents…please impart wisdom…i try as a teacher! Part three in a series. I must add that there is few lines in a song by the Hilltop hoods that this one most makes me think of… “The pens mightier than the sword, but you’d be fucked in a fight” Sad but true of this sick world at the moment!

Prague seen from Petrin Lookout Tower (Petrinska Rozhledna), Czech Republic. More than one year ago, I’ve got fascinated by some overlay works presented in various PS fora. Last year, I found about RB and soon could admire beautiful composite works of e.g. John Edwards here at RB. Inspired by many of those images here at RB or elsewhere, I’ve been planning to put my hands on some overlay work too, but I only got to it in recent days, ultimately inspired by The Wilds Of France by onefourseven (thank you, Mat, both for inspiration and a link to textures!). / This composite is my first result on the theme, composed of my original photograph and three textures from cgtextures.com. Comments and suggestions welcome! Original photograph: May 2008, Canon EOS 300X, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch, BW conversion, curves, sharpening, sepia, color adjustment, shape cut, filter gallery, overlay by three textures from cgtextures.com with adjusted brightness/contrast/levels/color, color adjustment, blend modes; final file: 24 layers, 5540×3693px, approx. 1.5GB, color profile conversion 10min, saving time >5min.

This is a follow up Picture of ‘Miss Death and Desire’ that was used to practice my colour grading skills in films. Following the 300’s style of colours, i used a green tint (which is used in the movie to help cover their green screen special effects CGI) It created an eerie modern femme fatal film noir look in this photo, which suits it very well. I’m doing up some images for some big wall art and had a bit of fun with this design I uploaded about a month ago What I’d look like with the front of my head missing if the laws of physics were tweaked just a little Or a metaphysical view of the practice of making oneself very very small in order to go into the mind to listen and talk to all the little voices in there. As you can see I have constructed powerful monitoring equipment to hear even the smallest voices. / I started it before xmas. / You can see me there right in the middle atop a platform in the best acoustic spot. Acrylic on canvas, blended with images in photo shop. I took a photo of an ally window through a store front a while ago in Seattle. It reminded me of an old black and white movie. I could just feel the tension of wondering what or who was inside. The scene had a feeling of loneliness. As if the person living there might be a recluse. I can relate to that at times. I had been waiting for something that would work with this shot. / In the mean time, I did this acrylic painting. I was thinking of posting it, but the title wouldn’t come to me. I love the textures and colors but I had a strong feeling that it needed more. / The painting and my image of the window seemed like they were meant for each other. / But then it needed one more element. / The bird had been perched on the wire above my house. He almost seemed to be posing for me, looking in all directions. The sun was at a perfect angle to highlight his breast. I guess I needed his photo as well. I hope you like the blend and the mystery of the bird and window. / /
