There is something surreptitious going on in language. At least the one I follow. It seems to me that somewhere in the world of words the juvenile troublemakers at the back of the class find ways to amuse themselves at our expense. They do a good job of blending in. They hide in broad daylight, looking you straight in the face while making lewd jokes and snickering about it. They’re very clever. The problem is we’re not immune to their games. The subliminal effect they may be having on us has me a little worried. Sometimes I find myself giggling along with them. This can’t be good! In hopes of preventing further moral decline I’ve begun documenting them. Please use the following photographs as a way to make yourself aware of how they’re taunting you. Together we can stop being the victims of their childish pranks. (All but one shot are edited entirely in-camera. No ‘cropping’ has been done. This practice of word collection has been an obsession of mine since before pixel manipulation became so popular. Slight and occasional brightness, contrast and saturation tweaking may have been done.)
Covering images taken on film and digital media during the past 10 years in various locations in Africa. Renditions and photographs.
Several images contained within this calendar are no longer and will not be in my portfolio again. Once I have sold 5 of this calendar I will be removing it from sale completely. Thanks for looking.
“Why sheep?” has to be the most frequent question I encounter. It would be easiest to answer, “because they are sheep” – but that would only be a lazy excuse for an explanation. The more involved reply would have to be somewhere between, “Because they are really just people in sheep’s clothing, pretending to be really cool,” and “Because they really are just sheep, even though you might recognize yourself or those you know in what you are seeing.” Or maybe it’s just because they are slightly insane with lots of cuteness appeal. Truth be told, they are messengers of insane moments around us, fun things awaiting us, and focal points of special things in life that often slip by unnoticed. What’s more – and being the peacenik creatures they are, the sheep love being part of a greater cause: bringing 14 months of joy and whimsy back to a world that seems to be going all wrong.

The second edition of my favourite flower images. Includes: tulips, lilies, cherry blossoms, callas and more.
My Paradise is quite small swamp on Southern Finland. These are (very) early morning moods from there.
Tilden Park, Oakland, California / 1911 Hershell-Spillman “Menagerie Edition” Carousel. This unique carousel has a wonderful mixture of exotic animal and horses alike. The horses boast beautiful, full length, authentic horse tails. One of only two still operating in the U.S. since it was relocated from Southern California in 1948. Re-created here in colored pencil drawings of these hand carved and hand painted timeless pieces!
This is the official BlankLogo Photography Cosplay calendar for 2010. It features costumes from several popular animes such as, Code Geass, Bleach and Gurren Lagann. It also features cosplays from popular video games such as Final Fantasy, Soul Caliber and Street Fighter. Photos are a selection of my favorite recent photos from various comic and anime conventions along with a few private shoots.
The Terracotta Army was discovered in 1974 in the eastern suburbs of Xi’an, Shaanxi Province by local farmers drilling a water well 1.5 miles east of Lishan (a mountain). This discovery prompted archaeologists to proceed to Shaanxi Province, China to investigate. The Terracotta Army is a form of funerary art buried with the First Emperor of Qin (Qin Shi Huang, Shi Huang means the first emperor) in 210-209 BC (he declared himself the first emperor of China in 221 BC to the end of his life in 210 BC). Their purpose was to help rule another empire with Shi Huang Di in the afterlife. Consequently, they are also sometimes referred to as “Qin’s Armies.” Mount Lishan is also where the material to make the terracotta warriors originated. In addition to the warriors, an entire man-made necropolis for the emperor has been excavated. (Thanks to Wikipedia)
