This picture was taken in the tropical zone at the Eden Project. This was one off a few where the steamed up lense worked to my advantage.

More from the Abstracts Set A leaf at the eden project with bits that look like steps taken on a f1.8 lens hence the small focal point.
Across the Peron Peninsula of Shark Bay, there is a 3.4km fence to keep out feral predators of endangered native species. Since this fence was constructed, control measures such as trapping and baiting have all but eliminated introduced predators. These endangered species are now thriving on the peninsula without the presence of introduced predators such as foxes and feral cats. Re-appearing native fauna include the brush-tailed bettong, the rufous hare-wallaby, the Western barred bandicoot, the Shark Bay mouse, the Western quoll, the banded hare-wallaby, and the malleefowl.
Two swans gently cruise Lake Eden at dawn on a very peaceful and calm morning. These two swans are known to me as “Mick” and “Mavis” and during a period of over one year grew quite accustomed to me regularly photographing them and their new-born cygnets. “Mavis” has been recently sitting on the newly built nest for weeks in anticipation of another healthy batch of chicks.
Layered four-season landscape photographs of western Colorado. Layers are blended separately using overlay, exclusion, and other methods, then flattened. the result is an abstract digital artwork. (Photoshop CS3)

The chamber was filled with flowers and vines, / The light was the sunshine that shone in the garden, / One could say it is almost symbolic of the Garden of Eden, / Cocoons were spaced out ,almost as if growing off a vine, / Even thru their spacesuits, / they can sense the smell of roses and wild flowers, / CRACKLE!!! / The 3 Aliens turn, / A cocoon was opening up !! / Then ,a hand appears…reaching out into the air !!! / Stunned and curious, / They see a human-like female child arise from her birthing place, / The garden that had sustained this world had given it’s first arrival !! A gentle smile rewards this occasion, / Minds touch, thoughts complete an exchange, / Confirmation, / The New children of Earth were ready to take their place / with their new Parents…..... Digital Art Walking With God / / (Genesis, v.24) Oh! for a closer walk with God, / A calm and heavenly frame; / A light to shine upon the road / That leads me to the Lamb! Where is the blessedness I knew / When first I saw the Lord? / Where is the soul-refershing view / Of Jesus and his word? What peaceful hours I once enjoyed! / How sweet their memory still! / But they have left an aching void, / The world can never fill. Return, O holy Dove, return! / Sweet the messenger of rest! / I hate the sins that made thee mourn / And drove thee from my breast. The dearest idol I have known, / Whate’er that idol be, / Help me to tear it from thy throne, / And worship only thee. So shall my walk be close with God, / Calm and serene my frame; / So purer light shall mark the road / That leads me to the Lamb. William Cowper / / / /
My 3 year old daughter Tilly is quite happy to have control over the new remote I just bought for my camera, she happily clicks clicks clicks and then excitedly runs back to see her photo. I like this one because it’s all about her eyes and usually she is sticking her tongue out or making a funny face (as taught to her by her father !!) I had some lace hanging up as a backdrop for my pregnant belly shots so she decided to go behind it and take a picture.

Hana, Maui – September 2002: The second largest and most popular of the Hawaiian Islands, Maui is known for diversity … of cultures, activities, climates, and experiences. On the lush northern shore of this island, diversity continues to flourish. The aptly named Garden of Eden Arboretum & Botanical Garden is the creation of Alan Bradbury, Maui’s first I.S.A. certified arborist and landscape designer. Bradbury purchased the 25-acre site in 1991 with a vision of restoring the area’s natural ecosystem with Hawaii’s native and indigenous species. Along the way the opportunity arose to include exotic plants and trees from the South Pacific region and tropical rain forests throughout the world. There are currently over 500 botanically labeled plants, including the most extensive collection of Ti plants in Hawaii. Ti has a long history of usage by the Polynesians in ceremonies and rituals, and is still considered one of Hawaii’s most culturally useful plants. Visitors to the Garden can roam at will through a series of meandering trails alive with brilliant colors, unique flowers, rare trees, and the sweet aroma of tropical blossoms. Panoramic vistas, including the sparkling Pacific, hidden waterfalls, and Keopuka Rock, of “Jurassic Park” fame, are a photographer’s dream. Open to the public since September 1996, the Garden of Eden received recognition from the State of Hawaii in 1995 for its conservation practices and proper land use and development techniques. Since opening, visitors from around the world have delighted in The Garden’s lush and beautifully landscaped twenty-five acres. Here, away from the crowds, one can still experience a special peace and the the spirit of old Hawaii. The Garden of Eden Arboretum & Botanical Garden is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and is located on the Hana Highway, between Kailua and Keanae (mile marker 10.5) 26 miles from Kahului. It is also a sought-after venue for weddings, retreats, and other private gatherings.
