This is a collage I conjured up after a day shooting in DC. I feel it depicts the state of politics here quite well.
When will your bubble burst? A comment on the global financial machine that dominates the lives of every person on this planet. When the people become the machine the machine becomes the artifice for reality. Sometimes life feels like it will overwhelm us, like we are being carried away with the tide. When this happens we need to fight and swim for the shore. Eventually will make it. Just keep your head above water and keep swimming. The beagle in this photo knew that.
Adobe Photoshop. I made this artwork showing that the economy will do better with Barack Obama as the US president

I being very profound with this piece. Or at least attempting to. Chained Growth is a ‘fly in the face’ of the current economic climate. I see the weeds growing through the change as a contrast to the global community trying to break free of the chains and restraints placed on it by the global economic downturn. This image has been manipulated in Photoshop Elements 7 to give a HDR effect. I have used a background and two layers then pushed the colour curves +/- to the limit to give range. Following this I altered the levels in the histogram to provide more vibrant and saturated colours. Then I merged the layers and flattened the overall image.

This vacant store at the northern corner of Clarkesville’s center square permits a view of two more vacant buildings at the same end of the road, one in reflection and the other on an adjacent street seen through the second window. Clarkesville has had a difficult time bringing life back to it’s aging downtown. I wouldn’t blame it on the current economy because it’s been this way ever since I first visited the town six years ago. At any rate, my intention here was not to highlight the vacancy but rather the three dimensional view. There is also a nice double shadow play happening on the surface of the window and in the reflection. Taken with an Olympus E-3 and Zuiko 14 -54 mm f/2.8 TF; f/14 @ 1/15 sec, ISO 100. The window image was severely warped by the wide angle, so I fixed this in PS with the skew and perspective tools. More windows and doors from Clarkesville. / Copyright © Richard G.
