Well, I’ve been through about 5 different plans for ‘home’ since my last journal entry….. I think the current one just may work…. it’s a weirdness….. and asks much trust of me… trust in hope, and perhaps harder; trust in people. So sometime in the next two weeks I’ll be moving…. retracing my steps, reclaiming my stuff …..and starting again. Fingers crossed. ‘Health’ remains much the same…painful most of the time, but still functioning after a fashion… now I’ve some idea of what happens next I’ll front up for another round of doctors apps etc… ‘Happiness’ I was recommended a strong dose St John’s Wort … it’s a little early to tell but I’ve some hope it will help….. the almost constant pain is getting to me… it wakes me up… usually at around 5 am and is usually what keeps me awake at night….... unfortunately it’s also the best indicator of what is happening in my belly. AND….. delightfulness!.... my illustration of an echidna (for sale as a card) is featured in the ‘bits and pieces’ group…... of the three in the series I have just uploaded it is my favourite drawing and my favourite animal in general…... The echidna is a peaceful animal that will show it’s strengths and hide it’s weaknesses when threatened….. the male; when seriously threatened has a poisonous spike on each hind foot which it uses to protect itself…....

Am Finalist in the South Australian Museum’s 2009 WATERHOUSE Natural History Art Prize for my Work On Paper, ‘Echidna Tale’. Shortlist judges were artist Garry Shead, and Barry Pearce, Head Curator of Australian Art, Art Gallery of NSW. Am ecstatic! / Returned this week from Adelaide Hills, spending precious time in Hans Heysen’s studio, The Cedars, Hahndorf, lamenting lack of time to visit SA Natural History Museum. Now returning Friday 17 July for media call and to open Exhibition on the Saturday with artist demonstration to the public . Long live Echidnas!!!
