Eat your Dinner!
Cute cafe in a small town.
This is a little Photo Impact on what we call a Katy Did! I had quite a nice time with this little critter this morning and he posed several times; I think this one was probably the best. Colourwonderful! Mongkok is your one stop shop to anything from $AUD2 torchlights to $AUD5000 Canon EOS 1D Mk IIIs. It’s also your one stop destination to all Asian cuisines from the authentic Hong Kong-style Dim Sum right to Pizza Hut pizzas ($AUD25 each!) Hong Kong-style! I wished I took this shot from dead centre. And this was only half the street! I’d still think its impossible to take a shot from one end to the other though, even if you tried. Captured on 1 January 2008, Mongkok, Kowloon. Hong Kong, China.
Tis only a few weeks until I move to Melbourne, so I thought I’d get my big, sheet-metalled guy to do some reconnaissance before I landed. Unfortunately, in true gigantic robot fashion, he decided to destroy the picturesque cityscape of the footy city. Apparently it will be rebuilt and ready for when I alight. In the 3 background colours … RED, GREEN and BLUE!
Believe it or not, these are all the the same species of Ladybird. They are the notoriously invasive Harlequin Ladybird Harmonia Axyridis, the most invasive ladybird on earth. It is also known as the Multicoloured Asian Ladybird and the Halloween Ladybird. It has a very variable appearance, which can make it difficult to tell apart from our native ladybirds. The harlequin ladybird was introduced to North America in 1988, where it is now the most widespread ladybird species on the continent. It has already invaded much of northwestern Europe, and arrived in Britain in the summer of 2004. I photographed all these variants on my runner bean plants, in South London, where fortunately for the ladybirds, but not for me, there is a large supply of black aphids. How far we have come from eating raw mammoth to this. Mammoth – spear – knife – stomach. Now it’s… Mine tin – refine ore – maufacture tin – grow beans – cook – package – distribute – grow wheat – harvest – make bread – distribute – manufacture toaster – manufacture gas hob – manufacture pan – cook beans (again) – toast bread – stomach.

His bite is worse than his bark…and you should hear him bark.
I figured it was about time to get a zombie t-shirt in my portfolio, so voila! Man, I spent all day on this sucker. Like… 8 hours? Maybe more. It was nuts! But I was having a good time! Remember, zombies love brains. Zombies eat your brains to gain your knowledge. Anyone see Planet Terror? I loved it, and it is also where I got the line from too :P SO yeah! It’s a bit darker than the actual piece, since by now you all know how the colors change when you upload them, but still! Ya dig it? I hope so!
I chucked on the macro lens this morning, intending to photograph a golden orb spider near our back door. Out of the corner of my eye i saw something floundering. On closer inspection it was a praying mantis absolutely annihilating this poor bee. This shot is after he`d ripped his head off, you can see the remainder of the body in his other hand. Taken with a Sigma 150mm, 580 EX II and a Canon 40D.
MUA/HAIR – Kelsey Johnson / MODEL – Kat Krawczuk / PHOTOGRAPHER – Lisabella Preece “I PUKE GLAMOUR” / this image is depicting how the industry glamourizes eating disorders. it is a play on words.. please don’t think Kelsey, Kat and I are trying to make it a beautiful thing. Eating Disorders kill thousands every single year. Help Raise Awareness. It is very serious. Everyone is pressured to be thin these days, don’t fall into a painful disease. It will shorten your life, whether you beat it or you don’t.

MUA/HAIR – Kelsey Johnson / MODEL – Kat Krawczuk / PHOTOGRAPHER – Lisabella Preece The title of this piece is a line from the song Straw Dog by Something Corporate. It’s at the end of the 2nd verse…just before the chorus. Love This Song.
