  • Sweet Hearts
    by Peter Horsman

    US$3.99–US$91.20

I was hard at work the other day when some friends dropped over with a box of chocolates. They chatted with my wife while I diligently focused on my “day job”, secretly wishing I could take even a few minutes out to scoff some delectable choccies – but knowing it would be rude to simply appear, eat and run. As our friends were leaving and saying their goodbyes one of them passed me the box of chocolates and at first I thought it was a joke, giving me an empty box as a reminder of what I had missed. But sitting in that plain cardboard box all on it’s lonesome was this cute little white chocolate dollop sprinkled with red hearts. At first I couldn’t bring myself to eat such a cute creation – so I sat the little delight on a fitness ball I had nearby and fired off a couple of shots. Once I was sure I had captured the little wonder for posterity I greedily sunk my teeth into that white chocolate casing, feeling the crack of it beneath my lips and the satisfyingly gooey center that cascaded into my mouth.

  • Rabbits generally live between four and twenty years.Rabbits are ground dwellers that live in environments ranging from desert to tropical forest and wetland. Rabbits kept in a home as pets for companionship are referred to as house rabbits. They typically have an indoor pen and a rabbit-safe place to run and exercise, such as a living or family room. Rabbits are easily trained to use a litter box and can learn to come when called. Their diet typically consists of unlimited Timothy hay, a small amount of pellets, and fresh vegetables. House rabbits are quiet pets, but are unsuitable for households with small children as they are easily frightened by loud noises and can be harmed by mishandling. Domestic rabbits that are not house rabbits also often serve as companions for their owners, typically living in an easily accessible hutch outside the home.

  • Tis only a few weeks until I move to Melbourne, so I thought I’d get my big, sheet-metalled guy to do some reconnaissance before I landed. Unfortunately, in true gigantic robot fashion, he decided to destroy the picturesque cityscape of the footy city. Apparently it will be rebuilt and ready for when I alight. In the 3 background colours … RED, GREEN and BLUE!

  • Believe it or not, these are all the the same species of Ladybird. They are the notoriously invasive Harlequin Ladybird Harmonia Axyridis, the most invasive ladybird on earth. It is also known as the Multicoloured Asian Ladybird and the Halloween Ladybird. It has a very variable appearance, which can make it difficult to tell apart from our native ladybirds. The harlequin ladybird was introduced to North America in 1988, where it is now the most widespread ladybird species on the continent. It has already invaded much of northwestern Europe, and arrived in Britain in the summer of 2004. I photographed all these variants on my runner bean plants, where fortunately for the ladybirds, but not for me, there is a large supply of black aphids.
