  Dedicated to my first and only girlfriend, I was 16 when I wrote this. It’s interesting to look back at things you wrote when you were a teenager, to have a look at what kind of space you were in when you were younger. Basically, my ex girlfriend fell in love with me a lot faster than I was feeling comfortable with. And I’m not saying that in a cocky way, mind you – she wrote me a love letter right after our first date, saying how much she missed me and couldn’t stop thinking about me (yeah, it was awkward). I tried to give her signs, without actually telling her, that maybe she was getting serious too fast, but she never really got it until she realized she wouldn’t be able to see me much after she graduated high school (she was two years older than me). Still, even with all the awkward moments, your late teenage years will be some of the best years of your life, so enjoy them, kiddies! *Like most of the other people I’ve written poetry about, Alicia never got a chance to read these words…. hehe, I’m still not sure whether to put that under “relief” or “regret” ;)
