Chinese Red Fan Girl wears a pair of geta on her tootsies, a gift from ‘Little Blue’ The kanji symbols in the background on the screen translate into ‘One’s Dearest Wish’

Vast rows of deciduous trees can be seen in perfect columns, displaying their autumn attire, at this tree farm in eastern Oregon. Tree farmers sow rows of trees in varying stages so they can be harvested at different times and therefore produce a constant yield to maintain a consistent gross.

A wierd contradiction happens in Africa. People are so very poor, the only clothes they can get are those given away by charity or sold for a pittance by second hand dealers. Such organisations or traders get their clothes ultimately from the charity bins you and I donate to. Therefore people living in abject poverty wear outfits with brand names emblazoned on them such as: Timberland, Nike or Ralph Lauren. The same names people in the west pay a lot for. Ironic? Yes. Amusing? Yes a little. I came across this beautiful young girl in the ruins of broken lava, homelessness and chaos. She was wearing a light blue dress and carrying a burberry hand bag. Classic. Eastern State Penitentiary was built on what was the outskirts of Philadelphia and opened on October 29, 1829 as part of a controversial movement to change the behavior of inmates through “confinement in solitude with labor.” Eastern State Penitentiary quickly became one of the most expensive and most copied buildings in the young United States. ESP was used as a penitentiary until it closed in 1970. In 1994 it opened for tours. It is believed that the Eastern State is haunted by the spirits of those who died there. During the Tang period in China, art, literature and music flourished, and female musicians were in abundance. I find their traditional garments beautiful, artworks in themselves.

The traditional classic chinese word “ai” (love) consist of the word “xing” (heart) at its core. “Ai Xing” in mandarin means “loving heart”. I have simply highlighted the core word “xing” in red to show the meaning of loving heart. “While some simplified characters were adopted from conventional abbreviated forms that have existed for a long time, the vast majority of the changes made by PRC were “unnatural” such as the removal of the symbol for heart (心) from the word love (愛) into the new character (爱).” (Wikipedia) This word is hand-written by me (using a wacom pen & tablet). This t-shirt design is currently only available from RB. The Bondi to Coogee coastal walk in Sydney’s eastern suburbs is one of the most popular pasttimes for both locals and tourists. Each day hundreds of people stroll, jog or run along the route which has a permanent view of the ocean and passes through the beaches of Tamarama, Bronte and Clovelly as it meanders south. The Bondi to Tamarama stretch also hosts the famous Sculpture By The Sea exhibition. There are many prominent lookout points along the walk to cater for the throngs of visitors wanting to take home a photo souvenir; but every now again you spot a new vantage point, such as this one which I noticed early one morning as the sun emerged from the ocean.
