© 2008 Sharon Anne Mau / *Black Sands of Hamoa Beach Maui Hawai’i “I the human wander lone in wonder amid this grand universe of unbounded space and time You the great keeper of universe / Exist in its infinite wonders / Lone in silence / In the grand home of your own being! Through the limitless lands and times / Through the incountable stars / You are gazing at me I look up towards thee! / All noise ceased in silence / All worlds absorbed in deep peace / Alone / You are! / Alone / I am within, fearless!” ~ Poetry and Songs by Rabindranath Tagore

A morbid history of St. John’s… the hill in the background is known as Gibbets Hil, it is where all the criminals were hung in public executions. The body of water at the base of the hill is where the executioner would throw the bodies when they were dead. The pond is known as “Dead Man’s Pond”. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

/ ‘Asian Series’ card by Karin Taylor Catch of the Day is a sweet little painting done in mixed media…using ink, acrylic, charcoal and pastels. I had so much fun creating this little character, and dressing her in a fur coat and beanie. She is being drawn along by her dolphin friend and a butterfly has thought to come visit too. Catch of the Day was inspired by a children’s book I used to read to my children when they were little, my brother gave it them. It’s a great story called ‘The Hottest Boy Who Ever Lived’ the illustrations by Kim Gamble I think are awesome. The little girl is very much like me, she loves to fish with a bamboo fishing pole, wriggly worm attached! I also love to fish out in the open ocean with my pa.. hence it also has a smidge of sentimental value.

This mosque is located in “The Citadel/ Al-Qalaa” which was built by Salah Ad-Din during 1176. The Citadel is one of the most popular sightseeing in Cairo Egypt and one of the most visited areas in the city. It is now the museum that offers the best collections and impressive views of Cairo. / ___________ Featured in the featured art gallery. Featured in the group Islamic Beauty. ______

The sky was almost cloudless and dull and I was trying to find a composition with no or little sky in it when I slipped and almost broke my leg and my tripod + cam. I guess I was lucky to get out with some minor injuries and an intact camera ! I had to finish watching the sunset like a good boy on the shore and it was the only composition I was able to take from where I was seated. I was camping along the shores of this pond and on this particular afternoon the fog began rolling in thick and heavy from the opposite shore. The only thing left with a hint of color was this buoy everything else was greyed out and blah. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /
