Imagine being born again. Only this time your mother is the earth and you come fully equipped with memories, knowledge and a belief system. What raw emotions are evoked when the first thing you are confronted with is an environment completely foreign to what you were expecting? / Fear, confusion, doubt and loneliness. / Or because of the new environment one may lose their inhibitions, feel joy or perhaps discover inner strength and courage. On the surface of the world right now there is / war and violence and things seem dark. / But calmly and quietly, at the same time, / something else is happening underground / An inner revolution is taking place / and certain individuals are being called to a higher light. / It is a silent revolution. / From the inside out. Inspired by the song The Days Of Pearly Spencer which was based on the story of a homeless man in Ballymena who was befriended by David McWilliams. The song reflected the writer’s deep humanity and his empathy with those who live on the margins of society. / Source Many thanks to Gregoryno6 who reminded me of this song last year, it’s been whirling around in my head since then.
