  Non-fiction A walk is a great idea A walk in England is a pleasure, a better idea than a drive, I mean. A walk in the English countryside is a most divine experience. You can either lose yourself or discover yourself, a great experience, either way. A back-pack of essentials (depends on your cravings, whims, vices or cares) a camera, a well covered body, a free mind and a searching soul is all I had during those several walks spanning just short of nine months’ wandering in England. On most days, my back-pack of essentials contained a jacket, water bottles, a few cans of beer, home-made sandwiches, munchies picked from Tesco, Lidl or even Somerfields, a note-book, a few cameras mostly bought from 99 P or £ 1 shops. It was only in November 2004 that I was able to buy a decent replacement for my lost cameras during my homeless days. 46, Amberley Road, Slough, Berkshire is where most of my memorable walks originated from and ended. I have no reason to think that I’m someone so special that Dr.Bola brought me to his house here, set me up in one of the twin attics, showed me around the house, explained the intricacies of the kitchen, the bath, handed me a set of duplicate keys to his entire house and asked to make myself comfortable. Once you are on Peascod Street, the high Street of Windsor, you are in a different world altogether from the rest of the Berkshire County. This street has the charm that can surpass that of being on Oxford Street or the Regent Street in the heart of London, which are rather, quite, flat. Peascod St. descends from the hillock on which the Windsor Castle is situated. Probably it’s the slope that gives it the charm of being on a hill station and the absence of any vehicular traffic makes it much more relaxed and the absence of the noise of Central London makes it far more pleasurable than the areas that I have combed with my pair of 54 years old legs. I’m told that I walk a lot. Lot more than many people that we know. Once I’d stocked my backpack with essentials from Waitrose, my favorite F&B store in Windsor which is a division of the famous Marks & Spencer chain and most reasonably priced, I would climb the slope of the street, go around the castle and settle down on my favorite bench by the river Thames facing Eton with Windsor just behind my back. ..........

Here is his insightful interview Tell us about yourself and your background I am is a self taught, weekend new Oil on Canvas Artist, Lecturer, Scientist and Consultant lives in Sydney , Australia. I hold Ph.D in Physics and Masters in Internetworking from UTS. I have found art to be very refreshing to creativity and have a profound impact on people to convey a message easily and effectively. Describe your artistic journey. How does it affect your life? Well I am a keen observer with high level of imagination, intuition, and excelled in Art work and drawing in my H.SC. But persued the science stream. But I did realise there is something else I want to devote my talent and share with the world to make a positive difference in the life of people. Only 3 years ago, I was given as one of surprise gift as a set of small canvas and set or colors on my birthday and I just painted the first portrait and started from there. I do my day job as a employment consultant helping unemployed people to find work and mentor & as a life coach; to over come their barrier like no family support, lack of education and training, lack of money, no experience, loneliness, loveless life, addictions – Drinking, Gaming, Drugs, mental health etc. I found it challenging and realised that the people are just struggling badly and need sound & holistic support services and strategies to empower them to stand on their own two feet. Other than that, I do spend my evenings, nights & weekend with non-stop painting and I felt great, over the moon, with sheer joy, no stress at all.. What inspires you to paint? Perhaps the helpless people in the society forced me to paint love art. It I can see lots of groups I would like to contact, like the water/seascapes and photoshop, and spirituality and so on and on and on. For example, most of my work is connected to water, including wetlands – the water/mangrove relationship and patterns/designs in water/earth in particular. The connection between water and life will always intrigue me and affect my choices of direction. Plenty of questions; no answers. It will take some time for me to do some new work targetting a particular group, because I am having to deal with my sea-change complications, and my images are very time consuming.   Content / My work is inspired by the natural world. Its beauty and its cruelty. Its hostility and its hospitality. Its paradoxes and its contrasts. When looking at nature, one can’t help but see its destruction at the hands of humans. It is virtually impossible to find unspoiled nature. Our planet’s ecological balance has been severely compromised, and phenomena such as global warming and the deterioration of the ozone layer affect every inch of the planet. I feel strongly that each of us must use the tools at our disposal to preserve and restore the natural world. As an artist, I employ visual language to address these issues with the goal of awakening interest and inspiring my audience to action. To learn more about each series’ subject in order to better understand and communicate its essence. Those who cannot be reached by depressing news about the dire state of our world may be reached by images of its beauty (Ansel Adams successfully showed this) and the threat imposed on it. Art has the power to make one see things in a new light. It allows us to develop a love for places and things that we would otherwise not have noticed, or thought of as ugly or boring. It helps us discover the beauty of the ocean floor, the dirt or alluvial mud that is bog, the bark of a tree. / Approach / Rather than re-creating a landscape on a canvas, I aim to express its essence. Obviously, no single work can hope to distill the complex spirit of a landscape, much less the infinitely sophisticated ecology that sustains it. So, in order to capture this richness, I work on a large number of paintings concurrently. This allows me to transport strong elements and effective techniques from one piece to the next. Each multi-layered rendering shares some details with the other works in the series. The overlap of elements enriches each individual expression and deepens the cohesion within the series. Ultimately, each piece captures some fragment of the landscape’s power until the larger body of work coalesces to express its deepest essence.
