This was taken near Wandin East at the back of the Dandenong Ranges. I was driving around through the mist and got lost. As i was coming around a bend I looked out and saw this.
This is again, from a drive through the back roads of the Dandenong ranges in Victoria. I was just driving around and stopping to photograph things that caught me eye (I wound up lost too). This is a plot of land behind a farmhouse near Seville.
Shot this back in November, 2004, when the grass was much greener, and there was water in the dam. There’s only been water in that dam one other time since then, and it lasted around 6 weeks….this is a nice reminder of what we used to have…. Sold this a number of times pre-redbubble, mostly A3 size, and it won me a $1500 prize from the Brisbane City Council, as well the John Herbert medal at APSCON 2005, and also a number of other smaller prizes. This was sold december 2008 on redbubble as a matted print. Hello ! Everybody I was surprised by the great responding of that picture ,that’s why i came back for more explanations. It’s true that i live in a place where nature is the queen .I’m surrounding by lakes ,trees and mountains,my friend Michel is always talking about moving but i want to die here.I’ve been creating a garden for four years now, getting pretty. No neighbors in front ,in the back only on both sides and i never see them .The only bug ,no sunsets and sunrises,i have to take the car ….big thing …. / We are surrounded by a big parc that belong to the «Université de Montreal» that means no construction for many, many yearsThe place I took that pic.is two minutes from my house. The many comments I had made me realise how lucky I am to live in a place like that .THANKS TO ALL OF YOU. Taken from a lookout tower next to my accommodation on Mabul Island in Borneo. It was early morning and this approaching rainstorm looked like a huge ribbon in the sky. The darker storm clouds were just out of the frame but it really pelted down about 5 minutes after I took this shot. View more of my landscapes by going to: / Landscape

A light mist this morning supplied me with this serendipidous shot. Not what I’d planned, but I do like what I was given!!! A misty morning blended with an image by Marcus Ranum in CS3. The lady’s forlorn demeanor and “all dressed up with nowhere to go” image made me think of Karen Carpenter’s song “Looking for Love…” / Though people say love is everywhere, / I’m looking for love, but it’s just not there For those interested, the background image was processed, the figure placed (which automatically gives a second layer) and blended using the opacity slider, “blend if” options in the blending mode, and erase tool. A shadow was produced with the burn tool, and light controlled on the figure with dodge, burn, and a white brush at about 5%. The blur tool was also used around any hard edges to help the figure blend into the b/g and not appear sharp and ‘dropped in’. Most of these actions were done on separate layers in order to be able to switch them on and off individually and ensure the correct effect was achieved. It also prevents ruining the whole image – if something doesn’t work, just delete that particular layer! A favourite of mine from early 2008 in the New Forest. Got up really early to catch the sunrise.
