  • One of the most endearing things about our British native Red Squirrels (so rare though they are), is the appearance of furry tufts on their ears during the winter months. This little fella here modelled them nicely for me. British Wildlife Centre, Surrey, England. Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 70-200mm L IS f/4

  • Ok, its my take on it. I won’t write a poem, I think I’m getting too dark…..I’m starting to realise what I’m doing here and not sure anymore.

  • Leaky rollerball on copier paper. Featured in Finks of Inks. Don’t ask. I have no idea what happened … I know, I am just as surprized. I do have a couple of ideas for people who’d like to try doing this though: 1. Buy new rollerballs. Make sure they’re the cheap version that leaks. / 2. Have a glass of dodgy red wine. / 3. Get a broken stereo. One that will only play “Days like these” by Van Morrison, which you found by chance because it tells you No Disk for any other CD in your rack you put in it. / 4. Have a glass of dodgy red wine. / 5. Make friends with someone who lives in Kentucky and whose current work is inspired by dolls (love ya, Tammy!). / 6. Suddenly remember that you have freckles (thanks, Mimi!). / 7. Spend 2 days previous to trying this watching “Lord of the Rings” part 1 and 2. / 8. Forget everything you learned about human proportions. / 9. Have a glass of dodgy red wine. / 10. Stay up late. Having a friend in a different time zone (i.e. Kentucky) helps because they’re preparing lunch while you’re skipping dinner. Provided you live in Central Europe. If not, move there. The climate is terrible. / 11. While doing all of this, simultaneously draw. PS: Make sure you incorporate something you’re used to drawing (birds, flowers, butterflies, decorative elements) just to keep drawing and not get too confused by what is happening. / 12. Oh, and to celebrate, add something you’ve never added to a drawing before, i.e. a signature. You don’t need to be crazy to do this, but it helps.

  • This is my new charge called ‘Jellybean’. He is a baby rabbit and is only 8 days old. His mum (my pet Bella, whom I have photos in my portfolio) died on Sunday night after an infection from giving birth. I took her to the vet and got some medicine but it was too late. :( so now Jellybean relies on me for warmth and a feed every 2 1/2 hours, day and night! So far so good, he is at this moment sitting under my shirt against my belly… quite a funny feeling… :) / Nikon D80 / Nikkor 60mm Micro lens /
