I had a dream, / A dream so profound / That written words could not express it, / Only tears; / No verbal language could convey it, / Only visions. / This dream spoke in music, it played out in light, / It flickered and danced in emotional tremors / That originated from a source beyond the heart. It manifested within me but not of me / And hovered freely beyond me. / Elusive, I tried to grasp its full meaning, / But could only see it when I closed my eyes, / I could only feel it, when I let it go. / The dream had wings and I felt / The rush of air as it lifted me. We were as we were meant to be – / Released from the heavy chains of our humanity, / Risen above the petty materialism and power struggles / That we once thought defined us. / We had relinquished the ironies of our need for separation from others / That wrestled constantly with our deepest yearning for belonging and unity, / We had softened into our connection with the Earth / And felt her heartbeat as our own, / We had begun to tread more tenderly upon the face of / The one who sustains us, / And remembered again, / To honour the beauty that she held up in her mirror. / Our recognition grew in the knowing that what we saw in our world / Was but a reflection of what we held inside, / Of Who we truly are, / And that the choice between fear and love was our very own, / Not the whim of a distant God. In this moment, we had grown wings, / And through the very lightness of our awakening…. / We had reached beyond our human limitations / And soared free.

Featured in Rural Around The Globe November 26, 2009. Best on Full Size It was a VERY great honor and pleasure for my Dear Hubby and me to spend Saturday, November with 21 in the company of Mike Rucci , BigD , and Lori Deiter at the Conowingo Dam in Maryland. Thank you so much, Mike, for encouraging us to visit here … and thanks to all three of you for your wonderful friendship and all the laughs and for putting up with my little-girl squeals of delight!!! I don’t think I’ve been that excited since I was a kid!!!!!! Bald Eagle image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens, Manfrotto tripod mounted (possibly?), at shutter speed 1/2500, ap f/8.0, focal dist 300mm, exp -.33, iso 400. Image cropped then treated to a light HDR in Photomatix at +/- 2 evals created in Photoshop. Light texture added. Texture courtesy of SkeletalMess at Flickr.

Best on full Size Another eagle capture from the November 21, 2009 shoot on the Conowingo Dam with Mike Rucci , BigD and Lori Deiter . This image is a compilation of the eagle image, shot at 300mm and taken with the Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens at Conowingo, Maryland, 11/21/09; and the clouds which were taken on 5/29/09 with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens in Montgomery County, Maryland. Images combined in Photoshop and treated to a bit of dodging and burning.
Best On Full Size “You choose to go voluntarily into the fire. The blaze might well destroy you. But if you survive, every blow of the hammer will serve to shape your being. Every drop of water wrung from you will temper and strengthen your soul.” -Margaret Weis, Soulforge (finished posting image at 1:30 am 12/10/09) A compilation of two of my images. The eagle was taken on November 21, 2009 at Conowingo Dam in Conowingo Maryland with fellow RedBubblers Mike Rucci , BigD , and Lori Deiter with the Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens (at 300mm). The sky image was taken on April 12, 2008 in Montgomery County, Maryland, during an amazing and unusual sunset with the Nikon D40x and the 18-135mm Nikon lens. Several layers of both images combined in Photshop at various blendings and opacities. Dodging and burning and a faint dry brush filter applied to my birdie friend rounded out the fun.
