It’s actually, sorta almost done.. just left a write up on Tim, since i do see a few people asking who’s Tim. hehe.. am also supposed to touch up the programming for the enquiry page.. and do 3 more banners.. and all must be done before 08.08.08…. YEAP!! Will officially launch my webbie on 08.08.08!!! Bwahahahaha…. You can call me a sucker for lucky number.. i can’t help it.. This is the year of the Rat, according to the lunar calendar, and yours truly, happens to be born exactly 12yrs ago, on the year of Rat.. XD the number 8 (ba) is known by the chinese as a lucky number as its pronunciation is similar to the word Fortune. fa in mandarin can mean richness.. AND guess what?! all my relatives and family calls me papa.. ehehe.. weird eh? my pet name was supposed to be fafa, but it somehow turns into papa.. so yea! i get uncles and grandaunties calling me papa… OO” papa… baba… fafa… O_o” And so i really hope to officially launch my webbie on the 8th Aug!! XD / oh shoot, that’s this friday… ARGH!!!! and can’t wait to finish my current project.. i just took up a short-deadline freelance proj, to create an interactive platform for a kiosk featuring Disney’s Wall.E!! i don’t know whether to smile or frown… i love being able to watch all the high res trailers and playing the games, but i hate actionscripting!!! OO” the project is due tomorrow, sorta.. i guess i’ll still be able to finish my webbie on time.. Oh, will take a videoclip of the platform later if possible and share with you guys!! =D Last and most importantly, so so sorry to everyone whose work i haven’t view or comment or fav!!! so so sorry.. i haven’t been able to come over to RB easily these days with this proj.. Hopefully i can be active online once again and catch up on everyone once this Wall-E proj is done and my webbie launched.. =D Hugs to everyone!! MISS YOU ALL!!! / fa

I eat and sleep this site… When I’m away, I fret that I’m unable to see what’s going on with my work or what are others shooting!! I am totally addicted and am anxiously watching to see if any of my images are worthy of being featured… in any of the groups I’ve joined… I know I’m repeating myself, but a big thankyou to all those of you make this site possible, you know who you are…... Being featured twice this week, in different groups says something about how you view my work… I am humbled at the quality of my peers, to all of you who leave comments, again thankyou, you know what’s it’s like to rec’d acknowledement from far away places; The many States in the USA… Denmark, Spain, Malta, Malaysia, Brazil, Netherlands, India and Down Under to name a few… I am amazed at the talent… The bar gets higher and higher as each day passes… Yellow Jacket you were surely instrumental in pushing my buttons, to strive for that W O W shot…. I am now taking time going over each of the colleages on my watch list to ensure I can honestly say I spent time with them… I did it too late for Yellow Jacket… He never got all that I could have said for what it’s worth… / I can’t believe this community, how close we can become in cyber space….. Look forward to the months ahead, however long we have, for the seasons, ideas, subjects, and images change.

Relationship - Valentines Day

Another in my series for the relationships book I would like to publish one day. It was written Valentines Day 2005 and I thought it would be relevant to add today. I believe that so many of us are unable to maintain passion in our romantic relationships as we have never fully come to terms with the relationships we have with our parents. Following is an insight into my relationship with my Mum. It is an ongoing process that I am happy to say is evolving very well. I woke this morning and had no idea it was Valentines Day. I was having a phone conversation with my mother and at the end of the conversation told her that I loved her both in my soul and now also in my mind and actions. To explain I have always loved my mother but at times have not had a perfectly smooth relationship. In fact many times I have felt guilt for not giving her the affection and warmth that I knew she craved for. I also consciously knew that she deserved my affection and was angry at my inability to give my love to her. For the past few years I have been working very hard at understanding my own emotions. I have been diligent in analyzing my moods to a point where I am gradually becoming a much more settled person. The more I have been able to understand myself the more freedom I am having to express my love to those closest to me. My own feelings of inner peace are opening my eyes to the beauty that my heart and soul have known about all along. Today when I told my mother about my total love, both mind and soul, she cried and we commenced a very deep discussion about love in general. Mum remarked how strange it was that on today of all days we were talking of love. To this point I was unaware that it was Vday and woke up to the irony that it was today that I finally verbalised my full love for my mother. I believe that my father also loves my mother in his soul but is yet to fully realise this love in his mind and actions. He is an amazing person with an incredibly deep heart but he also has some fears that he is yet to fully understand. I believe that many of us are also yet to fully connect to our souls. As such we are less than fully aware of the people and things that we truly love. To me love is the appreciation of beauty and is a gift best accessed when we appreciate the beauty within ourselves first. If we are insecure in ourselves we are more often than not motivated by what we think we need from life. As such when we find someone or something that we think we need we become dependant upon this person and thing for our very survival. In my opinion this is not real love. How can we love only for what we think we need from the object of our love? When we approach a feeling of security we start to see beauty everywhere. It is at these times that we most are able to love another person. It is at these times, when we know that we need nothing, that we truly see and feel beauty in others. To me Valentines Day should be a celebration of beauty and our own freedom from the fear and doubt that at times clouds our ability to love. The only other thought I have about today is with regards to Gender Balance, something I have already written about earlier. My first thought about today is that it is a female oriented day. Perhaps this is my own delusional instict although I have a hunch there are many other guys out there with a similar feeling. Given that the day is about Love then I believe it should be embraced by both sexes equally. Love to me is a soul feeling and should have nought to do with gender, need or convenience. In modern society it appears that it can be a less than manly emotion to openly express that you love. As an Australian male in 2005 I would like to state that for mine love is the ultimate reality. www.leapoffaith.com.au www.bodylinecal.com

Today my website gets a good order from Singapore. For around £1300 GBP. But the paypal system lets me down, i guess the buyer didn’t have his cookies set right or something went wrong, but he was unable to pay. Ego i lose a valuable sale. And one i really needed as I’ve invested about £1000 in advertising my site in the last couple of months and really needed a return on it. But while it’s a disappointment, It means my work will sell for the price I have it at and maybe even more and next person who tries will most likely be able to pay using the system and will get sent the paintings they wanted. i just hate letting anyone down or having them have a bad experience while buying anything from me.

Wall-E Premiere, London

I live in London. The rent is expensive, the food is expensive, public transport is expensive… basically, it’s expensive. But (for now) it’s still free to find a queue and join it, and if it’s for the premiere of the lastest Pixar Blockbuster in Leicester Square, then all the better. I mean, I’d gotten shots of Charlize Theron, Will Smith and some Jason Bateman dude at ‘Hancock’ a fortnight earlier… ... more so, it was a pleasant Sunday afternoon, it was a mass of people, and a whole lot of celebrities I’ve never heard of (plus two I had). And I had my camera and a decent enough lens. What was I going to do… have lunch? Not a chance. / Wall-E rolls out onto the carpet. It was a particularly impressive, well-articulated remote controlled device. Either that, or the US military just raised its head and went “Hmmmmm…..” / Getting eye-contact from movie stars is always a bit tricky, so I”m calling this a victory. / Some reporter interviewing Wall-E. I don’t know her name, and couldn’t hear the question (or answer) but I like to think he was defending rumours he’d had an on-set affair with an electric kettle or something. / This kindly old man, who you probably think is your uncle, is actually Ben Burtt, whom millions of geeks would want to hug for being the genius sound designer for all the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies. Oh, and he has no less than FOUR academy awards, plus another five nominations. He’s the voice of Wall-E in the movie. / This is the Director of Wall-E, Andrew Stanton. He’s got an Oscar too, best animated feature for Finding Nemo. He also directed A Bug’s Life, along with having writing credits on Monsters Inc, and Toy Story 1 and 2. He’s probably made Disney a couple of billion dollars. / Poor Sigourney Weaver has been nominated for 3 Academy Awards but is yet to win one. She did, however, utter the immortal line ‘Get away from her YOU B1TCH!!’ in Aliens (1986) (a role for which she got one of her nominations). She got pretty close to the heaving masse in this shot, signing autographs. / Ben Burtt, probably explaining to his interviewer that when he calls George Lucas to say he’s off to Antarctica to record a glacier crashing into the ocean for use as a spaceship sound effect, chances are George will be happy to foot the bill, no questions asked. / Possibly one of best portraits I’ve taken with the mighty Pentax K10D and 50mm f1.4 lens combination. Thanks, Sigourney!! / I don’t know who she is. Just that she’s an entertainment reporter and that the yellow dress she was wearing suited her immensely. Also, she’s pretty thin and could probably stand to eat something every now and then. Just saying. / I don’t know who he is, but if he’s being interviewed he must be someone famous, no? / I don’t know who she is. The gathered fans and photographers may have referred to her as ‘Angela’. The guy on her right was awesome : his deep, loud voice attracted several celebrities, cutting through the screaming teen girls, who were all there for this kid below…. / The masses of screaming teenage girls informed me that this was George Sampson, the winner of the most recent series of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. Then they went back to screaming. Really, really loudly. / Again, not sure who he is. But with a dinner jacket over a t-shirt and with hair like that, I’m guessing he’s Beck or a member of Coldplay? I’m also willing to expand my range of guesses to include Nobel Laureates from the field of Physics, if that increases my chance of being right. / I’m not wholly sure who she is. They called her ‘Sophie’, so there’s an outside chance she’s Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who had a couple of UK #2 singles earlier in the decade. And also, it seems, a kid. / And finally, this guy. He’s possibly not famous, but he is a security guard. The thin bald line between thousands of fans and Sigourney Weaver. Actually, no… not her or Ben Burtt or Andrew Stanton, but probably George Sampson. Who wasn’t actually in the movie, but got the lion’s share of the teen girls’ attention anyway. All up, a pleasant way to spend contorted in among a crowd. Candid photography is more fun when you have specific people you want to photograph, and also more ‘confronting’ because there are people with gear thousands of dollars more expensive in positions much more ‘valuable’ than you. But that’s why it’s fun. Next Monday (hopefully) the premiere of The Dark Night, the next Batman movie.
