Dusty Trails
by Simone ByrneI love the smell of Summer, all the essence that it brings, / And the magic that it oozes as the season first begins… read on…
© Simone Byrne 15th June, 1996. / All Rights Reserved. Back before I was a photographer my artistic endeavors were more slanted towards writing poetry, Aussie bush poetry to be precise. For me it was a way of remembering the good times I spent with my horses riding through the bush as I was growing up. Hope you enjoy the yarns, of course you realize that the more outrageous the tale, the more the likely hood of it being true! This poem is written about the joy of riding my gorgeous Thoroughbred boy Ringo through the Aussie bush in the late 80’s. Even now more than 20 years on, I still think back fondly to these times and I can still smell the dust and bush fragrances and feel the wind in my face. Ahh, that was life!!
