Dusk at the beach at Port Melbourne, Port Phillip Bay, with the Spirit of Tasmania and the Westgate Bridge as backdrops, in a panoramic format. My favourite time of day! / This photograph was voted into the top ten of the Mornington Peninsula & Port Phillip Bay group challenge ‘Boats in the Bay’. / /
Zanzibar, Tanzania Fishermen riding bicicles on the sunrise. This one was actually fun. I was taking a walk with my father in the beach at 6 a.m. and there were these fisherman passing by in bicicles. I took a photo of one isolated, but it didn’t come in perfect. I was looking through the LCD trying to figure out what failed and what was needed to improve it when my father, who was slightly ahead of me but turning backwards shouted: “hey, look, more!” I immediatly turned around, mission-impossible like, ducking a bit, instintively composed the picture and clicked after barely seing these 2 fisherman, all that in a frame of second. Couple seconds after imagine my surprise when I saw that it had come out quite good. At least for me heh.
Saltburn Pier. Right, that’s it. The last of ‘Project Pier’.................honest.
As shot other than straightening the horizon but no colouring etc, so what what you see is what you get! BEST VIEWED WHEN ENLARGED.
The lone lighthouse on Whitby’s east pier on the North Yorkshire coastline. I liked the simplicity, record shot of this weather worn building.

I was inspired by the contrast and in colour and texture found at the beach. / composition colour and texture are the main components of this art work. This was painted using a palette knife and brush and heavily textured with impasto. the sand is a collage of different papers. Acrylic, impasto and paper on Canvas 40cm x 75cm

the last choice of the sunsets at Royan – this was a bit of an experiment and I was quite pleased by the end result – the sun maybe could have been a tad smaller but you can’t have it all eh?? .....from b/w to colour and what a way to go. This image was shot on the west coast of Scotland and looks out over the Firth of Clyde at Dusk. / The colour and the rays of the sun that it created from behind the clouds was something else. / It is always great to get a shot like this, it makes the trip even more worth while. Its a straight shot as well. No HDR or trickery pokery. Canon EOS 400D. 28-80mm. AP mode with tripod, cable release, split angle viewer and polariser filter.
