This is a view of La Corbiere Light House in Jersey, CI, that I discovered for the first time this summer. This has become one of my favorites. I look forward to going again next year. I love seaside skies. They can be so romantic and sometimes mysterious, and the sound of the waves crashing upon the rocks or the much gentler shore line. • Sunset at the Curracurrang, just south of Wattamolla, Royal National Park. This is a wild and very rugged section of the Park with amazing rock formations and striations, none of which you can see here because it’s late dusk. But this evening had one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve seen here in the Park. I don’t know why but good sunsets here are few and far between but when they come – carumba! / The sea wash looked pearl-like against an opalescent sky with the cliffs stringing in between like a necklace. Whoops, waxing lyrical, better stop. Two blended exposures – one for the sky and one for everything else. Taken with the old Canon 30D / Tv: 1.6secs and 1/4sec / Av: f/8 / ISO: 100 / FL: 28mm

  • Late afternoon at Port Willunga South Australia. Looking out towards the setting sun through the remains of the Old Jetty structure. Not overly sure about the colours here, strange evening with orange red clouds and just dark enough to get a slight amount of motion in the foreground. Canon 400D, 18 -55 lens, CIR Polarising filter coupled with an ND4. Wet legs and a wet tripod, standing out in the water trying to avoid waves!!!!!!

  • Featured in You’re Accepted August 17, 2009. / Featured in Best From Around The Barnyard August 16, 2009. / Featured in Old Things – Two Per Day August 15, 2009. Another capture of a lovely old barn not from from my home in Montgomery County, Maryland. We’ve had another remarkably wet summer … we don’t often see greens like this in July and August!!! • My Website This is for my son and his beautiful fiance (pictured) Things Can Only Get Better You can walk my path, you can wear my shoes / Learn to talk like me and be an angel too / But maybe you ain’t never gonna feel this way / You ain’t never gonna know me, but i know you / I’m singing it now- / Things can only get better / They can only get better if we see it through- / that means me and I mean you too / So teach me now that things can only get better, / They can only get, they only get, take it on from here / You know i know that things can only get better I sometimes lose myself in me, I lose track of time / And I can’t see the wood for the trees / You set them alight / burning bridges as you’ve gone / I’m too weak to fight ya / I’ve got my personal hell to deal with, then you say / Walk my path, wear my shoes, talk like that- / I’ll be an angel then / Things can only get better / they can only get better, now i found you / Things can only get better, they can only get better, / now I found you / and you and you / You have shown me prejudice and greed / And you’ve shown me how I must learn to deal with this disease / I look at things now in a different light than I did before / And I’ve found the cause / and I think you can be my cure / So teach me to… / Walk your path, wear your shoes, talk like that, I’ll be an angel and / Things can only get better….... • Young Draven (8) was patiently posing for me on this long exposure (4 seconds). This young kid has already a fantastic eye for composition. Numerous times he has seen something from his perspective and with his imagination that it is only a matter of time he will come up with his own vision and surprise us all. Meanwhile he is happy to carry my tripod and press the button on my cable release. / Any sponsors out there? I love the shape of these mangrove trees…in fact I am a devoted tree photographer just in case you haven’t noticed

  • This tree has a bit of a story I suppose. Those living in the Brisbane area know it as “Garry’s” tree….just kidding. It is a fantastic subject both for Sunrises and Sunsets and even night shots. Go and get it…hehe
