  • You guys know by now that i like to keep things simple. That’s the type of photographer i am, and i think it also says a lot about what kind of person i am. Clear…simple…minimal….no worries :)

  • I’ve been planning this idea for a while – just waiting on the right telly to appear….but bensound beat me to the idea Oh well… This telly belonged to my husbands grandma who passed away last year. I’m sure she would have been looking down on me today having a good chuckle as I lugged the telly around Newcastle Baths.

  • Tonight’s sunset at Merewether Beach. Canon EOS450D / ND400 filter / ISO100 / f/8 / 50sec Processing: / Add a gradient filter to bring out some detail in the sky. Then / Duplicate Layer, set blend mode to Overlay and go Filter>Other>High Pass and use a radius of approx 20 pixels. Click OK to accept. Hold down the Alt key and add a new vector mask at the bottom of the layers palette to assign a black (hide all) mask to the layer. Then its a matter of selecting the paintbrush and painting back in the detail on selected parts of the image. I chose the sand/rock in the foreground and the clouds. Finally add a Vibrance layer to pump up the colours a tad and finish with some noise reduction if necessary. ;0)

  • I don’t know the name of this plant. Enlightenment would be much appreciated. I liked the colour and delicacy of it. Canon EOS 450D, 50mm f1.8 lens, +4 closeup filter.

This artwork was featured in Inspired By Poetry, HALLOWEEN, and Color Me A Rainbow Won the Best Of Pink challenge Definitely a departure from my usual stuff. And colour. I had a real strong desire to go blue with this as usual, but there was something about a warm colour that made the message come across more clearly. Inspired by the last stanza of a beautiful poem called “Life” by George Herbert (1593-1633). Farewell, dear flowers, sweetly your time ye spent, / Fit, while ye lived, for smell or ornament, / And after death for cures. / I follow straight without complaints or grief, / Since if my scent be good, I care not, if / It be as short as yours. ....Stock Credits….* / Sky/Field/Road / Death / Stock copyrights remain the property of their respective owners.
