This image was taken @ Port Willunga at the remains of the old jetty. On a recent journey back to Port Willunga recently, I’d noticed that many of these posts had been burnt. This sunset photograph was taken in Donsol, Philippines in January 2007. After an unsuccessful day of trying to spot whale sharks, this sunset made the whole day worthwhile. Taken with a Nikon Coolpix 5900. Featured in ‘Around The World’ group in November 2009.

16”x 12” Watercolour painting on cold pressed paper of the sun setting from Long Island, Whitsundays. This painting is a memory of a trip my husband and I took earlier this year to the beautiful island. There were many breathtaking sunsets, with amazing rainbow colours and this was just one of them. the glow of the night / is such a sight / shadows approaching over the land / painting the sky with a rainbow wand…. Sunset at the Curracurrang, just south of Wattamolla, Royal National Park. This is a wild and very rugged section of the Park with amazing rock formations and striations, none of which you can see here because it’s late dusk. But this evening had one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve seen here in the Park. I don’t know why but good sunsets here are few and far between but when they come – carumba! / The sea wash looked pearl-like against an opalescent sky with the cliffs stringing in between like a necklace. Whoops, waxing lyrical, better stop. Two blended exposures – one for the sky and one for everything else. Taken with the old Canon 30D / Tv: 1.6secs and 1/4sec / Av: f/8 / ISO: 100 / FL: 28mm

Late afternoon at Port Willunga South Australia. Looking out towards the setting sun through the remains of the Old Jetty structure. Not overly sure about the colours here, strange evening with orange red clouds and just dark enough to get a slight amount of motion in the foreground. Canon 400D, 18 -55 lens, CIR Polarising filter coupled with an ND4. Wet legs and a wet tripod, standing out in the water trying to avoid waves!!!!!!

Glenmore Reservoir, Calgary, Alberta, Canada This was one my very first photo’s I took. There were many things I had not yet picked up. I had the iso on auto, which I think for this photo was about 400 – 800. This led to much of the noise in the sky. I had the aperture set at f22, which at the time I thought was best to bring more of the photo in focus but I later found it can soften the overall image. I also did not own a tripod so I had to balance the camera on some rocks which made composing the scene much harder then normal and led to a small amount of camera shake. In the end though this became the first photo I had taken that I was truly proud of and solidified my passion for photography.

This shot was made at Maroubra, Sydney. / Dull lifeless rocks… some water… some clouds… / But then some magical light bubbles up and it becomes evident, that the whole world is a treasure! It depends on Light and wheather you want to see how perfect is it. / Even if you don’t see the Sun, it is there. More bright version available!! Feel free to ask!
