  • Took 3 shots out my hotel window in Montreux and stitched them together manually in Photoshop.

  • This fantastic image was also taken from my home in Tucson, Arizona.

  • Snowy Phlox and balsamroot burst into color on the foothills of the Cascade Mountains as the sun sets.

  • Captured out on the plains of Eastern Colorado at Sunset, they just went on for miles and miles….like a fantasy world of never ending Sunflowers..processed in HDR

  • Rain clouds at sunset in the Arizona desert.

  • Sunset n the Arizona desert.

  • Watsons Crags are in Kosciuszko National Park and in my opinion is the most spectacular alpine ridge line in Australia. On this particular occassion I had spent the day skiing out from Thredbo to camp at the frozen Lake Albina on a spectacular little knoll overlooking the Crags. This shot was taken halfway through dinner at my personal restaurant. The heater at the restaurant was pathetic, but the view… For other shots from this area check out my Kosciuszko gallery. • A frustrating summer of not getting out much due to work and family committments. After a 3 days sales meeting I was determined to get to the mountains and finally made it for a sunset hike last night. I had to wait for the wind to die to capture this meadow full of Avalanche Lillies with Mt. Rainier in the background.

  • Taken at Craigavon lakes in Co Armagh Ireland

  • Image captured from Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, Maine. The clouds suddenly rolled in from the ocean about 1/2 hour before sunset which added a dramatic effect to this shot. I used a Canon EOS Rebel XT, Focal Length was 80mm, ISO 400, F-stop F/4.5, This was taken up the Trinity Mountains, it was almost dark. There had been fires up there a year before. its why the trees look this way, I found it interesting and started to take the trees against that sky.

  • Storm clouds rolling in over the hills at sunset in Arizona. / Shot with Canon 20D.

I hope ya all like it! / —-John Make: KONICA MINOLTA / Model: MAXXUM 5D / Shutter Speed: 1/40 second / F Number: F/4.5 / Focal Length: 24 mm / ISO Speed: 200 More can always been seen on my website at jdebordphoto.com

  • Shot taken minutes after the sunset over the snow covered Lake of Two Mountains, Oka Quebec, CANADA. I particularly liked how the sun’s rays created a vertical light beam into the sky. Taken on Saturday, March 14th 2009, Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens. Featured in Outsiders, April 2009 / Featured in Dimensions, March 2009.

  • THIS IS A BIG IMAGE VIEW LARGER FOR BEST RESULTS This shot was taken from Echo Point in the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area at sunset, it was created from 5 bracketed images using a Nikon D300 fitted with a Nikon 18-200mm. No filters were used. The rock formations to the left are known as “The Three Sisters” the image was taken at sunrise looking past the Sisters certainly have a great view. The Blue Mountains are located 2 hours west of Sydney by road, also by train for visitors to Sydney, there are also organised day trips via motor coach that will take you to the area for the day…. though if you have the time spend a few days in the area. You can see all the attractions, have a devonshire tea in one of the many teahouses, or sit on the edge of the valley that seems to go on forever, and listen to the birdlife. Bushwalking is a must !

  • Well this shot did really well over on deviantART so I thought that I would also share with you all here too. (I honestly wasn’t expecting the 1600 odd favorites it received over there, took me by surprise!) Storm clouds fight with the evening sunset over the Colorado Rockies & Longs Peak. Every now and then I like to get a little artistic with my HDR’s and this is one of those, there is no right, no wrongs when it comes to photography and artistic interpretation, and i realize that not everyone likes that, nor this style, that is fine, I respect that, but I also ask the same of you to respect my creativeness, too! Now that being said, hope ya all dig it! / John See more on my website at www.jdebordphoto.com Minolta MAXXUM 5D / Shutter Speed: 1/25 second / F Number: F/9.0 / Focal Length: 80 mm / ISO Speed: 200
