This image was taken @ Port Willunga at the remains of the old jetty. On a recent journey back to Port Willunga recently, I’d noticed that many of these posts had been burnt. A fun stunt at the time I suppose :( Best viewed on a black background. Images from Australia / Architecture / Images from Japan / Sunsets / Water Scenes
Sunset on the Isle of Pines, New Caledonia. Taken not far from our beach side accommodation, I must have taken nearly 50 shots of this tree in the few minutes before the sun finally disappeared behind the horizon. Other works from New Caledonia Dumbea / Gaol House / Watching the sun fall /
Windfarm at Keithley Moor Yorkshire seconds before the light vanished.
Carved By Nature’s Wrath / The 12 Apostles, Victoria Following a day of torrential rain and gale force winds, the sun shone momentarily, lighting up the moody sky, before plunging the rugged coastline into complete darkness. As night falls, a solitary waterfall is all that remains of the passing storms, returning the much needed rain to the swollen seas of the shipwreck coast. Almost Dusk… / Almost dusk, view of beautiful landscape / Taken on the way home from a day out – at a tiny villiage in Cambridgeshire UK late afternoon. Nov 2007 /
For those of us tired of Winter and grey foggy days a bit of Spring color to brighten your day. A meadow filled with Lupine and balsamroot glows with color under the setting sun from the Rowena Plateau looking North across the Columbia River to the hills of Washington Off to a Photographers meeting , be back later!
Bar Beach / Newcastle NSW Australia
This shot was taken in The Water Run on the Coastal Walk in Royal NP just south of Sydney Australia. It was a wild and stormy evening and the sun just started to emerge from the clouds behind me as it was setting. The blue tint to the water comes for a very short period around sunset – you can just see it in any moving water at this time in the right light but the camera really picks it up. Canon 30D / Tv: 1/6sec / Av: f/13 / ISO: 100 / FL: 28mm
The Holy City of Varanasi on the Ganges River, Uttar Pradesh, India. / Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world. / Towards the middle of the picture, you can see the smoke and flames of the funeral pyres. Hindus are cremated here, and their ashes are returned to the holy river, believed to end the cycle of birth and rebirth. / Varanasi is the most Indian of Indian cities.

Sunset Lake
Taken at sunset at Laval-Ouest beach on 22/04/08(spring in Canada). Used my Canon A75. I am pleased with the color and calmness of the lake. The name came to me instantly. Although it cannot be seen by the viewer this area was flooded out and I had to take the shot from across the road as the water had spilled over. Featured in Live, Love, Dream group, October 2008
This was taken at sunset at Appletree Cottage in Oakbank, Adelaide Hills, South Australia, Australia. It was taken in late autumn. This is an HDR shot. It was taken using a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera and 3 images merged in Photomatix Pro.
Sailor by Cheyenne The Lighthouse: / Old and Beautiful, Tall and Bright as it guides my Sailor home in the night. / Dark and Stormy sea, / the Hurricane tosses, his Boat rocks, / water breaches it’s Deck. / My Sailor’s in trouble, / His Ship as it begins to sink. / All hope is lost, until.... / Until He sees Me, / My shadow cast out on the Stormy sea, / casting out miles away, / the powerful light within the Lighthouse, / guides my Sailor home again. / Safe and Sound, my True Love is found. / The Lighthouse stands Tall and True, perched on top a cliff, / Old and Beautiful. / A symbol of Our strong Love. / Faithful We are to It. / It’s faithfulness is forever to our Gratitude. This is a view of La Corbiere Light House in Jersey, CI, that I discovered for the first time this summer. This has become one of my favorites. I look forward to going again next year. I love seaside skies. They can be so romantic and sometimes mysterious, and the sound of the waves crashing upon the rocks or the much gentler shore line. The poem was above was written by a friend here on Redbubble, Cheyenne. please do check out her profile. Sunset at the Curracurrang, just south of Wattamolla, Royal National Park. This is a wild and very rugged section of the Park with amazing rock formations and striations, none of which you can see here because it’s late dusk. But this evening had one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve seen here in the Park. I don’t know why but good sunsets here are few and far between but when they come – carumba! / The sea wash looked pearl-like against an opalescent sky with the cliffs stringing in between like a necklace. Whoops, waxing lyrical, better stop. Two blended exposures – one for the sky and one for everything else. Taken with the old Canon 30D / Tv: 1.6secs and 1/4sec / Av: f/8 / ISO: 100 / FL: 28mm

Sounds of Then / (This is Australia) I think I hear the sounds of then, / And people talking, / The scenes recalled, by minute movement, / And songs they fall, from the backing tape. / That certain texture, that certain smell, To lie in sweat, on familiar sheets, / In brick veneer on financed beds. / In a room, of silent hardiflex / That certain texture, that certain smell, / Brings home the heavy days, / Brings home the the night time swell, Out on the patio we’d sit, / And the humidity we’d breathe, / We’d watch the lightning crack over canefields / Laugh and think, this is Australia. The block is awkward – it faces west, / With long diagonals, sloping too. / And in the distance, through the heat haze, / In convoys of silence the cattle graze. / That certain texture, that certain beat, / Brings forth the night time heat. Out on the patio we’d sit, / And the humidity we’d breathe, / We’d watch the lightning crack over canefields / Laugh and think that this is Australia. To lie in sweat, on familiar sheets, / In brick veneer on financed beds. / In a room of silent hardiflex / That certain texture, that certain smell, / Brings forth the heavy days, / Brings forth the night time sweat / Out on the patio we’d sit, / And the humidity we’d breathe, / We’d watch the lightning crack over canefields / Laugh and think, this is Australia. / This is Australia….......
