Safe habour for yachts and boats at Apollo Bay. Taken at dusk with mauve tones and the Otway Ranges as a backdrop,Great Ocean Road Victoria. / I liked the way the foreground rocks could be used to lead the eye into the picture
HDRI Sydney early morning.
I have always loved this shot of Halls Harbour at dusk. There is something almost haunting about the image that attracts me. I hope you enjoy it too!
Two famous Australian icons: the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. This was a 30 second exposure shot from down near Mrs Macquarie’s Point. Shot at 40mm; f/10; 30sec; ISO100
Santa Marta, Colombia ! Walking along the beach I had to improvise a bit without my tripod ! / Anyway this inconvenient gives me the chance sometimes to take pictures I wouldn’t probably take ! - Please alsp view… / / . / / .
/ . / The Sydney Opera House is an expressionist modern design, with a series of large precast concrete ‘shells’, each taken from a hemisphere of the same radius, forming the roofs of the structure. The Opera House covers 1.8 hectares (4.5 acres) of land. It is 183 metres (605 feet) long and about 120 metres (388 feet) wide at its widest point. It is supported on 580 concrete piers sunk up to 25 metres below sea level. Its power supply is equivalent for a town of 25,000 people. The roofs of the House are covered with 1.056 million glossy white and matte cream Swedish-made tiles.

*BEST VIEWED LARGER Berrys Bay is located on the Northern shore of Sydney Harbour . The harbour has many bays and tributaries. Berrys Bay /Balls Head Reserve can be reached by train from the city, you alight at Waverton Railway Station. The former BP Berry’s Bay bulk fuel storage and distribution terminal is located on the cliffs and foreshore area of Balls Head/Waverton Peninsula approximately 1.6 km northwest of the Sydney CBD. The site was operated by BP Australia as a fuel storage and distribution facility from the early 1920s. BP’s operations ceased in 1993 and the tanks were demolished in the mid 1990s. Premier Bob Carr announced in 1997 that this site, together with the Coal Loader and Caltex Sites on the other side of the peninsula would be preserved as Public Open Space It now has been returned to the public, as part of Sydney Harbour National Park, as you can see it is a magical site with wonderful panoramic views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge , Sydney Opera House (you can see under the bridge) the Sydney Skyline. Thank god governments make some good decisions returning open spaces to the people not the Developers. And yes England did send convicts to Australia for punishment Equipment used : Nikon D300, Nikon 18-200mm lens, no filters and processed using Photomatix My continuing journey into HDR continues !

A beautifully reflected yacht in the clear normandy light on a calm evening in harbour. Taken with a compact nikon coolpix 4800 :))
The evening light catching the sails and (if you look closely ) a little figure on the yardarm as this tallship the Jantje glides out of Cherbourg harbour at dusk. Taken with a compact nikon coolpix 4800 / f/4.4 / 1/129 sec / ISO50 / / / cheers… ding / ;))))
Really liked the way the setting sun light was reflecting off all the windows in these buildings along the side of the harbour.
The Freyberg Pool is an iconic 1960s swimming pool in Wellington, New Zealand. It is located by the Oriental Bay yacht harbour.
Taken at the end of a beautiful winter day here in Wellington, at the Oriental Bay yacht harbour. I particularly liked the classic lines of the yacht nearest the camera.
Last light again, looking South from the Causeway at Victor Harbor along the Esplanade across the ocean. Quite dark and brooding but available lighting was troublesome here. Canon 400D, HDR and adapted in Photomatix 2.5. Best Viewed large.
Pastel on Colourfix sanded paper (burgundy) – 50cm x 35cm My first painting completed in 2009! Not sure whether I like it or not yet, and will have to live with it for a few days! I actually started it awhile ago but didn’t get any further than the background colours. Did a bit more to it yesterday and finished it about 10 minutes ago, so it is hot off the easel. Apollo Bay is a beautiful fishing village along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. We spend a week there each year, and it is nearly time for us to head back there again. The harbour is really beautiful at dusk. I did a couple of colour sketches sitting on the edge of the harbour on this balmy summer evening, just as the lights were starting to come on. I also took some photos for later reference. A mellow dusk view of the delightful french medieval harbour of honfleur in normandy, inspiration for the artist Monet. One Samuel de Champlain sailed out of this port in 1608 and 400 years later his is still remembered in the city of Quebec … Nikon 4800 compact / f/2.7 / 1/40 sec / ISO-50
