F111 at the Amberly Air show yesterday. Quite surprised at how close they flew while doing the dump, this was only shot with a 135mm lens (with a small amount of cropping). Good show, lots of people though.

  • Breaking up is hard to do The Williamsburg Music Center presents a summer exhibition Hard Heart, July 17- Sept 25, 2009, an exhibition of works by members of the Urban Individualists an international artists collective. Women of the Urban Individualists dissect and examine aspects concerning the heart, from the banal to the complex. Their works subvert expected depictions. Not a typical show of hearts. / / This exhibition includes visual artworks by Helene Ruiz, Wahala Temi, Valerie Styles, Gloria Holwerda-Williams, Mia Hernandez, Mariam Muradian, and Helen Bascom. I will have 5 pieces showing in Brooklyn, New York USA at the Williamsburg Music Center beginning 17 July through 25 September 2009. I am honored to be included in this show with such great artists. This piece will be included in that show. If you are planning to be in Brooklyn during the time the show is up, please stop by and enjoy the great art and fabulous jazz music! / MCN:CB324-C0B90-28BA6 Visit ACTIVE ART

Feature Recipes – 3/16/09 / Recipes – 1/26/09 This is what you call a dump cake. It was prepared in a dutch oven outside by our campfire. You put the lid on and cover the lid with hot coals. This one is blueberries and pears. You can also use pineapple and cherries, or just use peaches or apples for a cobbler. It is the best! The recipes below are for cooking indoors in your oven. To cook outdoors and use a big iron dutch oven, you will want to double this recipe. Just line your dutch oven with heavy aluminum foil first, dump all ingredients in, put lid on,then from your already burning campfire, just use a shovel to scoop up hot coals and place on top of the lid. You will need to replace the coals when they cool with new hot one’s a few times during baking, takes maybe an hour. And yes this is great with vanilla ice cream – happy baking!! Recipe for Dump Cake – This is a 5-star recipe This recipe is easy enough for kids to bake. It was actually designed for kids. There is no mixing involved. Canned fruits are dumped into a baking pan, topped with cake mix, butter, and nuts, then baked. The result is something in between a cake and a cobbler, and amazingly delicious. Adults will also love this recipe. Prep Time: 10 minutes / Cook Time: 1 hour Ingredients: / 1 (20 ounces) can sliced pears, undrained / 1 (21 ounces) can prepared more fruit blueberry pie filling / 1 (18.25 ounces) box yellow cake mix / 2 sticks of butter or margarine, each cut into 12 slices / 1/4 cup chopped nuts (your choice – optional) Preparation: / Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (325 for glass baking dish). Have a 9 by 13-inch baking pan ready. Dump undrained pineapple into baking dish or pan and spread it out evenly. Using a spoon, dump globs of cherry pie filling evenly on top of the pineapple. Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the cherry and pineapple layers. Cut butter into slices with a butter knife and place slices evenly over cake mix. Sprinkle nuts on top if you’re using them. Bake for one hour. Use heavy oven mitts to remove the dump cake from oven.. To serve, scoop cake out with a large spoon like a cobbler, and dump it on a nice plate. A scoop of vanilla ice cream is delicious with dump cake. Serve warm or cold. Yield: about 10 to 12 servings Variations/Substitutions: Cherry/Pineapple Dump Cake / 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling / 1 (15 ounce) can crushed pineapple / 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix / 8 ounces chopped walnuts / 1/2 cup butter Prepare as above Black Forest Dump Cake / 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling / 1 (16.5 ounce) can pitted dark sweet cherries / 1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix / 1 cup chopped walnuts / 3/4 cup butter, cut into pieces Prepare as above

Not exactly sure what this building was at one time but it seemed like it was screaming to be HDR’d so here it is. Always worried about going to locations like this because of the dangers that might arise. Whether it be unexpected tenants or even dead animals.Until this shoot I have never in my life seen a raccoon before let alone a dead one (Near the center of the image).
