When people decide they no longer need something, they discard it. Sometimes the discards have a life of their own or seem to anyway. I came across a wasteland in San Bernardino where the no longer wanted trees, pipes and other unwanted items were tossed and left behind. It seemed almost as if there there was life among the discards. This twisted pipe seemed to be in dispute with the log that hovered over it. That’s me, I see life in eveything. It looks like prehistoric creatures, maybe dinasaurs and dragons. All content & images are © amari, amarica. Portfolio Clean Out - Your Vote Counts

I’m looking for nominations of what to cull out of my portfolio, I have my eye on a fair bit of my earlier work which well for me isn’t up to scratch. My difficult is I find myself to be my toughest critic so I’d like to open this up to anyone that wants to name any images they think don’t belong, I’ll compare that to my own list and then let the culling begin. I currently have 75 works for sale and I don’t know that feels like too much so I’m looking to cullt 10-25 at a guess, that said I don’t want to be like a overzealous gardener and prun it back to hard. So feel free to jump in and nominate any number of shots to go up onto the chopping block, if a image has already been nominated still list it as more votes will spell doom for the image in question.

F111 at the Amberly Air show yesterday. Quite surprised at how close they flew while doing the dump, this was only shot with a 135mm lens (with a small amount of cropping). Good show, lots of people though.

Most people on their way to Mungo NP. out in the NSW outback would probably recognise this car which must have just died one day on the way out on the dusty desert road. Always makes for an interesting shot.

As part of the Hobart Regatta celebrations, the RAAF sent an F1-11 from the mainland to do a dump and burn over the City and River Derwent. / The jet is flying from right to left in this image.

One argument and he splits. She’s half naked, alone, lonely, sad. Streetlights and her Holden are all that keep her company. (I can arrange a hi-res scan of the original neg if anyone is interested in purchasing a framed print)

A Family Blessing

My wife and daughter have been ok’d to journey with to Peru this summer to help build an orphanage for the Garbage Dump Kids of Trujillo. Being a nurse my wife will be doing mecial checkups for the kids. Needless to say we have a lot of money to raise between now and July so all my sales from now until then will be donated to Amp-up which is the Youth Group organzing this trip and the building of the orphanage. I beleive this to be a huge opportunity for growth for our family. Please keep my two favorite ladies in your prayers. Thanks Mike

Old fuel drums dumped in the bush.

This caught my eye, well otherwise I would have crashed into it while travelling on the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway today.

Not exactly sure what this building was at one time but it seemed like it was screaming to be HDR’d so here it is. Always worried about going to locations like this because of the dangers that might arise. Whether it be unexpected tenants or even dead animals.Until this shoot I have never in my life seen a raccoon before let alone a dead one (Near the center of the image).
