Graphite. This piece unfolded itself as I worked on it. It wasn’t begun with a specific meaning. rather it stemed from a mood. You can say the energy of emotions radiated out of me, the way the organic, sinister shootes projected from the eyesocket. People may of may not get it, but what was important to me was the act of creating it. Being involved with light and shadow, smoothing surfaces and attempting to achieve depth were thereputic actions centered around a mood/ feeling. The feelings are difficult to explain in words, but the image is a representation that wanted out. It doesn’t really matter if the audiance gets an understanding, just that it was formed in this type of creative process.

Ive noticed around here that there are quite a few photo manipulations. It makes me wonder who created the stock photography of the manipulation. I have only seen one person actually site a link to the stock images. I would like to see more people giving credit to the stock creators if they are not doing so already! When I don’t see people siting the stock images I either am forced to believe they created the stock, or don’t know that they should site it. I also start doubting the authenticity of their work. the bottom line is…don’t steal ideas! if its not 100% your ideas, please site the source. You can technically call it a form of plagiarisms when work sources are not sited. This obviously only applies to photo manipulations/ edits and such. thanks for listening! Pam

I wanted to let everyone know that at this time I am temporarily out of commission and unable to continue checking posts, new work, and comments for a while. / Surgery a few years back has placed my health in jeopardy at this time as a “part” used to put me back together was recalled and has now created major health issues. Due to this I am unanble to sit for long at the computer, or even walk more than a few feet to get back and forth to my desk. / I hope to rejoin you all very soon, and will miss not being able to join in for a while. Be well all my friends, remember to live, and love, and dance each day, and rejoice each morning when the sun rises in the distance, dancing over the horizon. / Pamela

Our house was in the middle of a flood zone in Newcastle on Friday night. Hence, there will be no photos from me for a while whilst we mop up and repair damage. My family and I made it out safe which is the main thing. Material possessions can always be replaced….although my camera made it to higher ground pretty quickly! For the first time in my life I had a waterfront property….and I now think they are over rated : )

Kimbaross My eagerly awaited second offering! Kimbaross !! Kimbaross was raised in a small town and currently resides in Boronia, Victoria, Australia. I’ve admired Kimbaross’s artwork for quite a while now, mainly due to his great use of colour and undeniably unique and individual style. His portrayal of the mundanities of day to day life speak volumes to me personally and I believe something new can be gathered from each one of his wonderful works each time you view it. In Kimbaross’s own words… / “I mainly use oils for painting as I love the feel and smell of the stuff and as a result, I probably have long term heavy metal poisoning. I also use a lot of oil pastels for drawings as I love the semi control I have over the finished work and because I feel like a big kid using them. I have been experimenting with pencil and ink lately. Inspired by many Australian Artists, too many to mention. My inspiration is mainly drawn from the simple pleasures derived from the ordinary, mundane, existence that most of us lead, with an Australian perspective. Every now and then I like to hop into fantasy land, particularly Wonderland.” / A sneak preview. / 9-5 by Kimbaross

There’s a guy on here by the name of Tony, profile name anticus50 who does some of the most amazing work i’ve ever seen and doesn’t get nearly enough credit for it! I’m writing this Journal in the hope that a few of you will go and be amazed! In Tony’s own words: “I mainly use acrylics but have experimented with everything over the years and finally settled on them. Films and entertainment are my main inspiration at the moment but i do go through phases. I’ve stopped searching for a “style” and just settled down with what I do – I think I evolve with every piece….” I’ve chosen this piece “Trinity” by Tony as a sneak preview of his awesome acrylic on canvas work. Do yourself a favour and give him a squiz!

  • Matanuska Glacier
    by Sharon Mau

    US$5.82–US$133.00

Matanuska Glacier Terminus / Chugach Mountains / Alaska The Matanuska Glacier is a large ice flow, 24 miles long and 4 miles wide at the terminus, averaging approximately 2 miles in width. It is a valley glacier, and exists on a valley floor. The majority of glaciers in Alaska today are smaller alpine glaciers which hang off mountain slopes. The Matanuska is an active glacier, which advances at one foot per day. It takes approximately 250 years for the ice to form upglacier and advance to the terminus. The ice of an active glacier always moves forward due to gravity; like water in a river, the ice will flow downvalley. When ice melts at a higher rate than snow accumulates, the glacier margin ‘recedes’. (The term ‘receding’ does not refer to the ice actually travelling back up the valley.) The density of glacier ice allows the entire spectrum of light to be absorbed with the exception of the blue light which is reflected, and can therefore be seen by your eye. Seeing, experiencing and walking on this beautiful glacier is a high point of my life and my son David, who was there with me on this day! All photos natural light.

Fellow Bubblers, This is my first attempt to break out of poetry and other forms of creative art into the realm of short stories. Ever since I was a young boy I dreamed of becoming one of two things, the first was an astronaut and the second was a writer. / Since I am much too old to pursue the first, I shall try to achieve the second. I finally mustered enough courage to actually write a short story. Over the years I have written down many idea’s and summaries to short stories I wanted to develop on paper. So here now I ask you all for your help, I need you my peers to critique my work, give me constructive criticism and to let me know, do I give up my dream or do I show a tiny spark of talent as to continue on. You see I have built a literal well of plots, idea’s, and summaries of which I can draw from to quench my thirst for writing. But what good would it be if my writing does not please the reader, bring some enjoyment into their life. Then I would be wasting my time and theirs. So I ask you to let me know in the kind and considerate way I know redbubblers do,what you think of my first creative writing. Thank you all, / Michael

purchased the domain ARTDICTIVE.COM to house all my arts i have for sale at various places – under one roof. Well, thats the plan anyways… Few weeks, over even months ago – i questioned myself if it was a good idea to have my arts available for sale at different places online. I wondered if it was a better idea to stick to one place.. as i focus on my creative arts and the selling or sharing of it.. as part of my misson/goal : Sustainable Lifestyle.. So pretty much fulltime – and first major goal, is to make minimum wage weekly from all that i do. Then i pictured myself in a proper ‘real’ shop/office etc.. and i asked myself, if i would just have one supplier of goods or many? Would there be only one supplier providing me with tshirts, or would i have different ones for different products – so that i have the best available for my customers.. With that.. i bought Artdictive.com :) Yesterday – i opened another account here in RedBubble – under identity of Artdictive / In this section, Im gonna only put CARDS.. cuz other than the fact i seem to have trillions of stuff.. I want better control of the pricing – and with the current system RB has at the moment, the markups what i want for the cards is pushing the prices of the WallArt prices too high for my liking. Ive noticed few others here have done this too (card only account) – so thought id give it a go :)
