Boston Public Gardens is home for this family of Bronze ducklings and a very patient mother duck. The statue pays tribute to a well known children’s book “Make way for Ducklings”. A Boston Based shot in the series to support and raise money and awareness about the Steven Hill Foundation. All money raised in the sale of my works goes towards the Foundation. Female mandarine duck landing on a pond, Bushy Park, London
I was at the park today testing out the new camera and as soon as I stopped the car this flock of Ducks came waddling over. Just as I snapped the pic this one in the front goes and stands on one leg. Thought it was a cool shot. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography

Cute little family of ducks in Arlington Park, Sarasota, FL This mother duck had just been attacked by a Moscovy Duck that is twice her size. The babies were running everywhere trying to hide. My hubby chased the Muscovy away from her and the little one came looking for her. Hubby said the Moscovy had one of these little babies in his bill when he first encountered the situation. FEATURED IN SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION / FEATURED IN ALL SOFT AND CUDDLIES!! / FEATURED IN A BEAUTIFUL BLUR / FEATURED IN ALPHABET SOUP / FEATURED IN PHOTOGRAPHY 101 This little duckling got separated from his mother and was / hiding under a bush. When I approached to take a picture he kept trying to hide and eventually ran across the water and hopped on this lily pad in the middle of the pond. He stayed there until I left and when I looked back he swam back to shore. I thought he was so cute as if to say “I am safe here because you can’t see me on this lily pad” Nikon D90
Morning ducks on Tidal River, Wilson’s Promontory National Park, Victoria, Australia. Nikon D300 / Nikkor 17-55mm DX lens
Looked like an typical white duck with the exception of the cool topnotch. And to make things more interesting, there was more than one of them in the park so this wasn’t just an everyday duck having a “bad feather day”. Kewl! It dropped in at about medium on the scale of friendliness: OK with walking within 10 feet but no hand feeding. Piece was renamed after so many of you responded with a better name than: “duck with the feathered crown”. Thanks for the improvement, peeps. LOL! This piece was entered into a challenge by the photographer/makeover artist/writer/wit (choose ‘nit’ or ‘half’) CLiPiCs and it placed well. See below for the edit, the credits, and the challenge entry. And a big thank you to Clippy! :-D
