  • Yes, Yes, I know this is the laziest shirt I’ve ever done but I love these words so much!!! Take “Fruit Cup” for example. I can literally say this word repeatedly for half an hour. It makes me giggle and the more I say it, the harder it is to say right (I mean, for chrissakes, how grammatically correct is it to put an “R” after an “F”) and then I get into this whole introspective analysis of how I, as a child, was able to mimic my mother making this peculiar sound and that evolves into the study of the words following such as “Noodle” (Noooooooooodle) (This can also be replicated upon the word “Strudel”(Strooooooooodle), then I spontaneously combust from the excessive propulsion of the protons and neutrons residing in my understimulated cranium. Yes, today has been a rough day at work.

  • Another image for my photography final “Fragmented Self Image”. I suppose you could say I had a problem with alcohol. Not so much that I was an alcoholic, but I did depend on alcohol for a while as it helped me forget how I felt about myself and who I was. / During the time I was dealing with my poor self-esteem and eating disorder I felt empty, unwanted, unattractive and unexciting. I would often go out, get drunk and do stupid things that would make me feel attractive and wanted, even if it was just for a brief moment. I’d always feel terrible the next day, but I continued to do it for the sake of feeling attractive just for one night. I never did anything too drastic such as sleeping with many guys, but the things I did still made me feel ashamed later and granted me a negative image. I took several shots of this set up, with myself in different positions on the couch and put them together on photoshop. Thanks to Alan for letting me use his empty bottles and living room for this shoot!

  • Large flocks of Waxwings descend on a single tree in the spring and pick the berries clean. I have read that Waxwings can become drunk eating too many of these berries. Well….. at least I have evidence of that. Next spring I promise a photo of the dignified, sober Bohemian Waxwing…..

  • 2009 Acrylic on 140 lb. watercolour paper 24×30” / From Native American series The Dismantling of The Native was Featured in / First Things Group 29 Nov 09 When I was a young boy living on the open range with my grandparents in Montana, my grandpapa would always take me to the trading post just outside of town. / There were always men, with dark reddish skin with tall hats with feathers in them with their hand always sticking out to us as we would walk into the store. My grandpapa was a tough old cuss, as he had fought in the Mexican Revolution, starting at the age of 14. He would always tell me….. show no fear to these people but always show them honor and respect for this land used to be theirs, I never knew what he meant then. / But on the way out he would always hand them money and tabacco…....I remember he always carried a loaded colt .44 in his belt under his coat. and would sleep with it under his pillow. / As I painted this painting it brought back memories of him and those long ago and far away days in Montana, as he has being gone for 30 years now. My Grandmama (you remember her she loves Wild Roses) went the same year not too long after he left us. although sometimes I tell you I can feel his presence strange like that.

  • That’s right folks. I just had three shots of Hennigans and I don’t smell. Say you got a big job interview, and you’re a little nervous. Well throw back a couple shots of Hennigans and you’ll be as loose as a goose and ready to roll in no time.
