The eye is one of those universal images we all drawn to. When shown in an anatomical sense rather than belonging to a face there is a strange disconnect.

I wanted to come out with a shirt that represented the Beat Makers/Producers. The AKAI MPC2000xl is widely used by Producers and Beat Makers alike. I figured this would be a nice concept to share with any producer getting paid for their music.

  • The Compact Cassette, often referred to as audio cassette, cassette tape, cassette, or simply tape, is a magnetic tape sound recording format. Although it was originally intended as a medium for dictation, improvements in fidelity led the Compact Cassette to supplant reel-to-reel tape recording in most non-professional applications. Its uses ranged from portable audio to home recording to data storage for early microcomputers. Between the early 1960s and early 2000s, the cassette was one of the two most common formats for prerecorded music, first alongside the LP and later the Compact Disc. The word cassette is a French word meaning little box.

  • Djembe Drum
    by Dawne Olson

    US$3.42–US$91.20

The name djembe (JEM-bay) is taken from the saying “anke dje, anke be” which translates everyone gather together We grew up with a great appreciation for music in my family. My grandfather played the accordian, guitar, piano, saxaphone and clairinet. My kids all play one instrument or two (Trombone, Saxaphone, Flute, Piano, Drums) / Myself, I play the clarinet (not often though), the piano, and recently trying to learn a little on the djembe drum. At this point I do it more justice photographing it than playing it. It has a warm, earthy primal sound and I love to hear it played well! Still a goal for me to try to learn it! / For more information and a sound sample click here To hear a song that inspires me to want to learn to play (besides on the steering wheel of my jeep!) click here! Like a gift from the heavens / It was easy to tell / It was love from above that could save me from hell / She had fire in her soul / It was easy to see / How the devil himself could be pulled out of me / There were drums in the air as she started to dance / Every soul in the room keeping time with their hands and we sang [Chorus] / A-yo-a-yo-a-yo-a / And the voices rang like the angles sang, singing / A-yo-a-yo-a-yo-a / And we danced on into the night [2x] Like a piece to the puzzle that falls into place / You could tell how we felt from the look on our faces / We was spinning in circles with the moon in our eyes / No room left to move in between you and I / We forgot where we were and we lost track of time / And we sang to the wind as we danced through the night

  • Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Singer/Songwriter/Musician / Sammy Hagar / live at the Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Baja Mexico. i was with my group who paid for a Private concert with Sammy Hagar !! / OMG i had so much fun. I was asked to come upstairs and meet Mr. Hagar in person !! I extended my hand and said to him, “It is an honor and a pleasure to meet you Mr. Hagar”. and he grabbed me and said “OH MY GOD I love your accent, where are you from?” i said, “Montana”, and he said “NO fucking way!! I would have guessed you are from South Africa !! You have the most beautiful accent i have ever heard.” and of course i was in heaven being so near him held in his arms and face to face with him. I told him all about my day, how i had been out on a sport fishing boat for 8 hours fishing for Marlins and Sailfish in the Pacific Ocean, and how “happy i am to be here with you now”. and he said, “i have lived here for 23 years and i’ve never been on a boat !!” and we just laughed and laughed He had his arms around me and we had a fantastic conversation ~ i had my arm around his neck, and had to resist kissing him ~ i could feel his heat, and he smelled so good ~ I just love him !! Sammy is so HOT and sexy ~ i almost died right there HAHAHA / We were being videotaped the entire time, and photographed, and i honestly never noticed until Sammy said to me with a big smile (omg he is so beautiful) , “they are photographing and videotaping us, would you like copies?” / and of course i said “Oh YES!!” ahahahaha ~ Oh my god the experience was so thrilling !! Sammy put on a Fantastic show !! It was just so awesome to be there with him in his beautiful Cantina. Sammy Hagar named and built this Caba Wabo Cantina in beautiful downtown Cabo San Lucas which includes a Stage and either plays there himself or has other bands play there. Local bands from Cabo San Lucas, and also famous bands like Velvet Revolver, L.A. Guns etc. etc. Restaurant upstairs, and three bars, plus a gift shop and outdoor seating area. It is so beautiful !! I love it so much i want to marry it LOL photography by Karön Melillo d’Vega / Saturday ~ October 4, 2008
