I took this photo in my backyard after the rain today. I think it worked well as the flower seems to jump out from the contrasting blurry green background. Hope you all like it.

It’s Easter today and my mom stopped over early to give these to me, I took a picture of them to make them last forever. Today is a beautiful sun shiny day, the sky is so blue with puffy white clouds. Well I better get busy and put the Ham in the oven….............Happy Easter !!!!!!

All proceeds from sales from will go to the / TorontoHumaneSociety You love the roses – so do I. I wish / The sky would rain down roses, as they rain / From off the shaken bush. Why will it not? / Then all the valley would be pink and white / And soft to tread on. They would fall as light / As feathers, smelling sweet; and it would be / Like sleeping and like waking, all at once! Roses by George Eliot

OK… I’m coming out of the closet…. I have a confession to make…. I bought a macro lens (Tamron 90mm Macro). As somebody that considers themselves a serious landscape photographer I feel like I have donned an anorak and now I’m a train spotter. I don’t know why, but I have never been overly interested in macro photography before ,but all of a sudden I felt the urge to try my creativity on a much smaller scale. You won’t be seeing any flowers or insects from me, but I will be trying to bring some of the principles of large scale lighting and composition to the macro world. I have to admit though that I feel very clumsy operating in the macro world where depth of field is measured in millimeters when I’m used to sometimes having infinite depth of field. This is the first of a few exercises that I have set myself to try to understand the world of macro.

Sony H5 with M3358 close up lens. Cropped back from 3072×2304 to 1808×1360 and rotated it for better viewing. Yes I know I can up-size it back to 3072×2304 but that way you loose image quality IMO. Hence only available as card or matted print. If anybody wants the original shot or an up-sized version let me know. / / Have a look at my other photos.
