Whilst I have to sadly admit to the above being true (I blame involuntary excess consumption of alcohol for my temporary lapse in concentration as I was trying to wriggle into my jeans) I really just wanted to get you in here to read this It may not be relevant to you, but I think it is a very well put together piece and may be helpful for those who find themselves in these sorts of situations. Make love not war… Rhana =)))

Well here I am just doing my job as co-host (which incidentally I am loving) and realised that there was a new photo in my group features list (which is the only way I can navigate to the group – I am sure there another way!?) and there it was my new photo featured in Dawn and Dusk Light! Jump poor Rob nearly lost his place on the chair! Even more surprised when I realised it was yesterday – so wow I am tremendously happy, the photo was a complete surprise when I uploaded it I wasn’t expecting to see the sun actually in the drop! SO a big Thank you to the lovely people in Dawn and Dusk light for making the sun shine for me this evening :)) And what a lovely way to start the weekend with a lovely warm glow all inside! Even more incentive for the sun to shine after the rain – mind you at this rate it could soon be snow :0

Well, the base price of tshirts doesn’t seem to be getting any cheaper here on Redbubble, and I’m still more interested in having people out there wearing my designs than making huge amounts of money.. so I’ve decided to pull the markup right back, and set the price of the tees to a comfortable $30. I reckon that’s close to what you would pay in a store, plus these are really good quality tshirts. This isn’t a short sale or anything like that, I’ll leave it there until the base price changes again, at which point I’ll reconsider it depending on what direction it goes in. I’m interested in what markup other people have on their tees, and if they think the $5 – $10 difference would actually make someone not buy the work.

Had an appointment with the surgeon today.. and it wasn’t the best news I’ve ever heard. First, the stoma only takes about an hour to reverse and then it would entail one night in the hospital and then home… BUT.. the CT scan taken on Tuesday shows a HUGE hernia – which will have to be fixed. That will be about a 4 hour surgery with approximately a week in the hospital.. BUT.. there are spots on my liver – and nobody knows what they are.. so an MRI will be scheduled. I also have a barium enema for Tuesday morning – how wonderful… Once they have everything they need.. MAYBE I’ll get put back together again.. just like Humpty Dumpty….

  • A little tip for catching the impact of water drops etc
    by Rob Toombs

Hiya Guys & Girls Here is a little tip to help you get the same results as my image below…... !http://images-1.redbubble.net/im…

Hiya Guys & Girls Here is a little tip to help you get the same results as my image below…... Over the years i have been facinated with macro shots of water drops hitting the water surface in during all my attempts i have come to realise that this is not an easy thing to get right… We obviously have the usually problems such as lighting, DOF etc etc but the worst is getting the actual focus on the target point rght.. Well, here is a little idea you may find useful.. I use a sinple cork (As in wine bottle) and a litle bit of chain from a sink plug.. I basically position the cork where the drop hits using the weight of the chian to keep it from moving all over the place. I then focus on the Cork, so that when the actual water drop falls, it is in focus.. When i am ready and the camera is set up, i simply remove the cork and chain and shoot.. The only thing at this point is getting the timing right.. Apart from this, you should have a clear, sharp image of the water drop or the crater that is left after it hits the surface.. Anyway, this is how i get the images of water drops just before they actually hit the surface… I hope this little tip is helpful.. Full write up can be found in The Photographers Vault All the best and enjoy…..... Rob xx

Easy Drop Shadow layers in Photoshop/Elements – Beginners to Novice See the 2+ minute video tutorial on drop-shadows from my PS/E video tutorial page graphic tutorial per request Summary for Novices: Duplicate your object, then use Enhance >> Adjust Lighting >> Levels, and move the master white all the way to the left, next to the black. You now have a duplicate object in pure black. Apply a Gaussian Blur, then use the “Multiply” blend at 40-75%, depending on the darkness. Move the shadow layer below the object and slightly offset: and up or down, right or left of it, depending on your light source. Transform the shadow for more realistic or even surreal effects. Create a shadow for this object, a green sofa. If you have a busy background, create a green fill layer / below your target object, in order to see results clearly select sofa layer duplicate it add “shadow” suffix to the name keep shadow layer / on top. select it Drop down “Enhance” menu > / select Adjust Lighting > / Levels Output Levels slider, select white handle Move white handle, left, to black handle Now your object is duplicated in black. Next you will blur it. keep shadow layer selected Drop down “Filter” menu > / select Blur > Gaussian Blur Keep preview checked to moderate changes / Move slider to right to blur more Grab shadow: click it. / while holding mouse down, / drag downward Drop shadow below original / object layer Make orig. object visible / (click box to see an eye) select shadow layers use move tool / in tools palette press keyboard arrow keys / to offset the shadow / up, down, right, left eraser tool erase unwanted shapes Use “Transform” to change the perspective or distort the shadow Drop down “Image” menu > / Transform > Perspective Move corner handles to alter Click check-mark to commit the transformation Change the shadows blend/mode to Multiply Drop down the Layers Palette / blending menu / select “Multiply” Slide “Opacity” past midway, / shown at 62% Before After Let’s make that DARKER Move Opacity up to 78% / FINAL Before After Final Product Although this pictorial uses an object, you can apply the same technique to people, lettering, or anything you like. It’s fast and easy once you’ve done it a couple of times. Remember: LEVELS. / LEVELS is where you change a duplicate object to BLACK. This tutorial is brought to you courtesy of F.A. Moore. / http://www.redbubble.com/frannieann
