  • Tide Driven
    by DawsonImages

    US$5.82–US$133.00

The break in the rainy day at sunset coupled with high tide being driven by the wind created some surging waves for me to use in the foreground and this gnarled limb or stump washed ahore at the right time for me to add it to the composition. Taken at Neptune Beach here in the great state of Washington.

  • I was a young fashion photographer’s assistant who had also photographed racehorses trained by my father. ITV heard the story and wanted to interview me with pictures of girls and horses. In this picture shot for Biba’s, a world famous boutique in Kensington High Street in the 60’s, I decided to combine them both. I borrowed the 20mm lens and the 250 exposure back from my boss, John Cowan, whose studio was used in the 1966 cult film Blow-Up and set off for Sussex. The 20mm lens had only just been introduced and was the first of it’s kind. Technical Details: Camera: Nikon F / Lens: Nikkor UD Auto 20mm f/3.5 / Motor Drive: 250 Exposure Back / Film: Bulk Ilford FP4 / ASA: 200 / Exposure: 1/250 at f/5.6 / Developer: D76 © 1966 John Hooton Photography

  • Driven Light
    by Ben Little

    US$4.32–US$98.80

Whats to say really the colours and the aesthetic nature of the photograph speak loudly. Aptly named for the reason being that me and my vehicle are cast in the shadows in the lower portion of the image. Taken on Cable Beach Broome on the back end of Cyclone Claire after it passed offshore. .... Enjoy… Ben

  • 16×20” oil painting on canvas The Slender Loris. In this painting, I have put a loris in a teardrop that is shared by two eyes. The eyes make up two separate lorises, but if you look again you will see that the two eyes make up an ADDITIONAL loris, with its mouth under the teardrop. The Slender Loris has a population which is steadily declining for many reasons, one of which is that it is killed for its tears which are believed by locals to have medicinal purposes. The tear is a focal point in this painting because it is a reason the population is declining, and there is another loris suspended in the teardrop. The lorises will soon be extinct if we don’t intervene. This animal is on the FOCAL list of Edge of Existence Species, which means it was in the top 10 list for 2007. Its habitat is declining and it is killed for meat. If you would like to learn more about the Slender Loris and other species in decline, please visit http://www.edgeofexistence.org/mammals/species_info.php?id=22
